Yes, the food is amazing and utterly faultless. However, you will have to share your experience with the rather vacuous and shallow urban nouveau riche set, and a Sommelier who, unless you order the most expensive bottle of wine, will view you as little better than pond life. My advice would be to try this once in a lifetime experience... More

OK, its vegetarian. I am too. So maybe I'm just a little biased. Maybe. It is very, very good. Service can be a little slow sometimes. Go relaxed, prepared to enjoy. The staff will explain every course in detail. Feel free to ask questions. Drink recommendations are spot on, and if you want to go your own way, then you... More

Tian is a vegetarian gourmet's dream. The menu is flexible, creative and varied, and the staff provide good advice about what courses will go well together. We added matched wines to our courses, which was great value as well as delicious. The service was excellent, and the quality of glassware and crockery, and the presentation of everything, was simply fantastic.... More

Location, presentation, service, taste, ingredients, matching of the courses, timing... All nothing but perfect. I cannot imagine that anyone will miss the boring chunk of meat. Only the cheese selection leaves still room for a little improvement. Good wine choice, but definitely on the pricey side. In France they would have gotten two Michelin stars without doubt. Highly recommended.

I visited Tian with my friend on a trip to Vienna. I made a reservation for lunch, reading the blog a Japanese woman writes. I think it is really worth visiting! First of all, the interior is truly nice. It is decorated with white color and we were so fascinated. The roses on the table were also beautiful! Of course... More

I discovered Tian through the Michelin listings, and had a wonderful meal here with my husband and my sister-in-law (who is French and decidedly not a vegetarian!) on our first night in Vienna. All three of us loved the whole experience. The restaurant is lovely, and so elegant. We took a peek into the lounge downstairs as well - very... More

I'm a vegetarian and my boyfriend is not, yet we both enjoyed the food and the whole experience at Tian. Everything is vegetarian or vegan (I asked about the caviar and it's made from seaweed!) and all of the ingredients blended perfectly together in each dish. At the end of the meal we had the cheese plate, which had a... More

This was a recommendation from our B&B because we are generally vegetarian. We knew it would be expensive, but worth it. We went for lunch and it was great..3 courses and 3 wines each, and they gave us something extra at the beginning..cucumber foam with caviar...I never had anything like that before (tho not vegetarian-we ate it anyway!) Everything was... More

I have to say that I was a bit sceptic going into the evening. We opted for the six course menu (which turned out to be a 10 course with all the extra dished). It was a dining experience that we will never forget. The ingredients were superb and fused together in such unique ways. It was like a psychadelic... More

Expensive but worth a try! They experiment with interesting vegetarian gourmet cuisine. So if you have the budget for it, then I recommend you try it. The ambiance was fantastic and we had a good time dining there. Friendly and helpful staff as well.

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
