We stopped in for coffee after dinner, and I decided to have their chocolate mousse dessert. It was delicious! Staff was friendly and attentive. We didn't look at the menu since we had just eaten dinner elsewhere.

This place was near our hotel and we popped in to have a drink and make a diner booking. It appears to have 2 halves one for smokers and the other for non. It's quite traditional inside in the smokers area and if preferred it but couldn't stand the smoke. So we bailed on the drink and booked diner. Returning... More

I recommend the gulas soup. Even thought it is a small portion, for me it was enough. Also, please be advised the vegetables side dish contain Bruxelles sprouts. I don't like it and I always forget to ask first. I read before about the smoking and the non smoking entrances and it was helpful for me, so pay attention. The food... More

I'd say this was the restaurant in Vienna where I felt I was in a real local eatery. Although it is located in the first district, there weren't any tourists that I noticed, but it was rather full of locals enjoying a casual and tasty meal. My husband had the sausages, and I had the calf's liver - the half... More

Returned after a mediocre meal last year. This time it was solid in food and service. Three meals ranging from Wiener Schnitzel to fish. All well prepared. At nice lunch atmosphere with a mix of locals and tourists. The prices are also reasonable. They also do not rush you.

We ate here per our hotel's recommendation and were delighted with the choice. On a rainy fall night, the comfy atmosphere of the restaurant was especially welcome. Our main courses and desserts were excellent.

Came in here just for a wee drink. Decided to ask to see a menu after we've been seeing some nice dishes coming out. After sharing a tafelspitz salad between us, also ordered our mains afterwards. Just because the atmosphere, food and the service was so nice. We were tourists, but all the other tables were locals. Just what we... More

Staff were extremely helpful and the food was first class. Small portions available which suited me fine. Best meal we had on our recent trip to Vienna. Open on a Sunday which was a bonus as most of the restaurants are closed on Sunday.

This restaurant was just up the street from our hotel and looked inviting. We went for dinner without a reservation and we were delighted! The decor is typical Austrian and the service friendly. There is an outer bar area where patrons can smoke and inner seating areas where smoking is not allowed. The food was excellent - nicely served and... More

Very near our hotel so we decided to try this restaurant as it got very good reviews on tripadvisor. We had no reservations but we were still given a table for 4 people. Service was efficient and food was very good and plentiful. Restaurant was crowded and separated into 2 sections - smoking and non-smoking - with each section having... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
