We were lucky to get a table for 2 just waking in off the street on a Saturday evening. The food is basic & plain. There is no attention to appearance. The service is slow - limited number of waiting staff. Bread was not provided until we asked & then a single roll was given. Strange because others got small... More

This has to be the best , even better than Figlmüller, Beisl for Wiener Schnitzel and the likes, in a genuine Viennese 18th Century setting. In the centre of Vienna with prices which would have fast food restaurants pale with envy.

We wanted to have quick typical meal, but probably we came late (around 8 pm) and many of the meals from the menu were not available any more. It was crowded, so had to wait for everything we ordered but when it came it was ok. Nothing special, but tasty.

This is a small, local restaurant serving Viennesse traditional food.. Busy place where the locals like to eat. We had excellent food (Schweinbratten, glass of wine and desseert. Just the right thing on a rainy day.

This traditional Austrian restaurant with its wooden walls offers great food with large portions at a very normal price. The service is fast and you can for sure spot many locals eating next to you which is always good.

Can not say that the food is bad but not good either. Service is also average that the waitress seems to be busy doing a lot of things

The guide on our walking tour recommended this restaurant for a cheap local schnitzel. Half the price of some more upmarket or touristy places. The food was great and salads that came with the main meals were surprisingly light and refreshing! It's a cash only restaurant!

This is where Viennese workers go for a quick meal on their way home from work or shopping. It's not a place to linger over your meal; if you want to spend the evening over your dinner, look elsewhere. But if you want honest-to-goodness home cooking Viennese style served without frills, this is the place. Don't be put off by... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
