KuckKuck was recommended by our concierge at the Imperial hotel, and it was wonderful. What really made this a wonderful evening was our host, who was a lovely gentleman, who gave the whole evening a friendly and personal touch. The food was excellent - traditional Viennese which I had never really tried before. Lovely place.

Very sweet owner and great interactions / intentions. Seemed Authentic food and a nice evening, even if the food wasn't quite my preference...

Started with a delightful clear soup with dumpling, followed by tafelspitz with spinach, potatoes and apple sauce. Wonderful desserts. Fortunately all the cuckoo clocks went off at different times each with a charming tone.

What this place got is mostly a good position, close to the centre and on a quiet, cozy street. The food is ok, but nothing out of the ordinary.I had snails with blue cheese (which might question the integrity of both my charachter and this whole review, I understand) and the classic schnitzel. My gf had a mushroom ragu (or... More

The concierge booked the reservation for us so we looked up the reviews on here... And of course looked at the negative... Our experience was completely the opposite... The service was excellent and the waiter worked hard to ensure we got the right food and was attentive... And more importantly... The food was really good and didn't seem overly expensive.... More

We walked around Vienna for a while looking for somewhere just off the beaten track and happened to come accrual Kuckuck. It looks average from the outside but inside it is old looking and fairly small. We were welcomed by Fabio, a mature gentleman who was in part, the making of a great evening. The menu is traditional and very... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening in the "Kuckuck", the staff were friendly and the ambience was cosy - a typical Viennese atmosphere but without the typical "touristy" feel. This little place is a gem waiting to be discovered. Our meals were excellent: my husband had the venison ("deer") goulash with dumplings and our daughter insisted on the grilled Styrian chicken... We were recommended this restaurant by the concierge of the imperial hotel for great authentic Vienna Schnitzel and he was absolutely right. The building was around in the 1400's and it had ll the charm of a village restaurant but in a big city like Vienna. Our waiter was attentive and patrolled the room diligently and our Wiener schnitzel was... More

On our last evening in Vienna, we walked by this cozy and inviting place and decided to have dinner there, primarily because it listed the desert I had been looking for: Kaiserschmarm. It was a good decision and not just because of the desert (which was delicious), but because of the entire experience. We loved the courses we shared (calf's... More

A small cosy restaurant, with a nice (though not extensive) menu. Both of our main courses were good, but my husband's venison casserole was superb! Very friendly, chatty waiter.

Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
