The food was delicious but the service wasn't very nice. Hard to get the attention and when they bother to listen, you get a short unpleasant answer.

Recommended by all of the hotel staff. Unfortunately we didn´t eat there, because the menu was too near to Christmas Menu

When I go to a restaurant that is more expensive than the average I have higher expectations. This restaurant meets them all. The environment and the service are fantastic and the food delicious for the eye and the mouth.

After roaming a couple of back alley Vienna streets we arrived at the restaurant where my colleagues had booked us for the evening. On a monday evening the place was not crowded, but everything was in place for a good meal. We had an exciting four-course meal which also included "something from the chef". The food was very nice and... More

You need to book! We arrived on spec but they were full. It was Sunday and they had a large party so not their fault. Booked next night and returned again because it was so good.

Fabulous food and slow if good service. But please do not ask for mustard!!!! I think my head is now in my hands/ a bit like asking Marco Pierre- White for salt The amuse bouche was delightful and my main course of the famous chicken was indeed chicken schnitzel- but oh so moist !! Definitely one to try, go with... More

I took a group of 12 here last night and have visited twice before with groups, and Kristian's never fails to provide great service and great food. The shared starters provided a good selection of meat and fish and was offered as soon as we arrived which allowed us time to choose the main course. The free range chicken is... More

Just had a great meal at Monastri. It is a beautiful location and the food was light and inventive which came as a pleasant change to the more traditional Viennese cuisine. We had 4 courses which was just right. Particular highlights were the soup, the beef and the cheesecake which was the best I have ever had. Good wine and... More

I read about this restaurant on "one Day in Vienna " on TripAdvisor, or I will never find such a tucked away restaurant between 2 old buildings. The setting is so lovely, sitting underneath the grape vines on a warm September evening. We ordered Avocado Avocado Bolt to share for starter, and it was amazing. It had a really interesting... Went here after a recommendation from a fellow foodie. Located in the 8th district in Vienna -- Biedermaier courtyard with over hanging grape vines. The sampling from the chef consisted of shredded pumpkin sauteed with a little veal pattie (Butterschnitzel). Parsley root soup and poached trout with and baby vegetables as the main. Small cheese cake tart for dessert. But... More

Staying in Neubau

Neighbourhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
