I had a late lunch here which was very good. The service was not rushed and helpful with ordering. It was two blocks from my hotel, very convenient. It is typically Austrian cuisine which I was looking for that day.

I have visited this restaurant many times and am never disappointed. The staff are welcoming and the food is superb. Very typical Viennese fayre and a well-appointed interior. I cannot recommend this restaurant more highly.

I don't speak very good German but tried to. They were very dismissive and borderline rude and arrogant. The food was good but it was ruined by the staff. Something weird going on. Took me at least 10 minutes to calm down in a nice bar down the road. Beware! Maybe they don't like English people?

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Vienna City and this place is close by. Pleasantly surprised by the authentic atmosphere, service and cooking. The goulash is my recommendation as are the soups.

Good food. Reasonably priced. The service was a bit slow but the staff was friendly. We did not understand when the bread basket was put in our table we would be charged for each roll we ate.

We stayed for a week near this restaurant and kept coming back. It looks a bit ordinary from the outside but you go through to a beautiful outdoor garden with huge trees. The tables are very well set and the ambience is very good. The service was excellent, helpful and friendly. The waiter suggested some local wines and explained the... More

This restaurant looks appealing from the outside and is just as nice inside. The food was exclellent, my potato and mushroom soup was delicious followed by an enormous plate of schnitzel with a side of potato salad, so much so that I couldn't even consider dessert. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and the beer went down easily! I... More

Staying in Margareten

Neighbourhood Profile
This former working class district blends hip eateries and avant-garde cinema with a time travel into 1950s Vienna. Feel the district’s pulse at Margaretenhof and Schlossquadrat. 19th-century Margaretenhof is a local icon, yet has very non-Viennese architecture with its brick structure and cast-iron verandas. The nearby urban Renaissance castle of Schlossquadrat houses several restaurants. In the summer you can sit in its romantic shady courtyard over Schnitzel and Kracherl (traditional fizzy syrup). Siebenbrunnenplatz and its surrounding shops and grocery stores have remained virtually unchanged in the past 60 years: taking a walk there is like stepping into a 1950s film set. Speaking of movies, head to avant-garde cinema Filmcasino in the evening. It often stages foreign language cult films.
