We arrived at the restarant at 2 PM, were immediately seated and handled the menus. The seating was very uncomfortable, I was sitting on a large green wooded bank similar to the ones I remember from school time which was just void of any comfort. Surrounding tables were quite close so the talk on each side made it impossible to... More

Best eggplant parmigiana outside Firenze. Real authentic Italian cuisine at very moderate prices. Right around corner from Mariahilfe Strasse.

My wife and I were staying at the Kummer Hotel on a B&B basis and found this Italian Restaurant a few hundred yards from the hotel. Yes! I know Italian restaurant in Austria but went to Austrian restaurants as well. Turn right out of the hotel past the church and on the right there is a small road with about... More

This was our second time at Frascati and we were not disappointed. The pizzas are always gigantic and delicious and this time I had the mushroom risotto, which was maybe a bit too salty, but nonetheless delicious. The owner is really energetic and charismatic and definitely Italian. First time we went here an Italian family took the table next to... More

When I lived in Vienna before, this was my most favourite Italian - amazing food you can only find in Italy, right in the heart of beautiful Vienna. Over the years, they maintained their standards. The pizza is truly authentic - thin crust with only the simplest and best of ingredients. Their pasta is the closest to the original I... More

Good pizza and good value food. The service was very slow and poor (2/10) and the staff seemed very grumpy. One of the waiters needed to have some deodorant as the smell put us off our food. Getting the bill took an exceptionally long time.

Our hotel recommended this restaurant, which was within walking distence from our hotel. The food was excellent with very generous portions and well prepared. The pizza alone could feed a family of 4! Service was very good. Outside seating was very pleasant and the street was relatively qyuiet which made for a nice dining experience.

The pizza here is thin, has a big surface area and is simply delicious. The pasta dishes are also very scrumptious. The food is moderately priced. The service is authentic Italian. I really like coming here, especially due to the restaurant's great location, right near the Mariahilferstraße. Well worth giving it a try, just not on busy shopping weekends (eg.... More

Old fashioned place, however the pizza is really good. It has a thin though and is so huge it cannot even fit the plate. Overall a nice experience.

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
