My wife and I had lunch here which ended with an unpleasant surprise. We ordered main dishes, drinks and desert for €62.70. The food was qualitatively comparable with other Viennese restaurants we ate at, although more expensive. The unacceptable part came when I asked for...More

We sat outside on a slightly chilly June day but blankets and heaters meant we could stay outside and enjoy the fabulous cakes and wine whilst watching the horse and traps and the people of Vienna going about their business. Great location

Another well known Viennese coffee house conveniently situated near the Opera House. Traditional decor but nothing too memorable A little disappointed to find cake menu appeared to be a generic coffee house chain one rather than in house specialities, however our choices were very tasty....More

We were seated outside fairly quickly on a Saturday afternoon but it took time for our server to get our order. I ordered a warm apple strudel with vanilla sauce and wanted water but was told a small glass would be 1.50 Euros. The server...More

We loved the traditional mittel European cafe decor, chandeliers & formally attired waiting staff. There is a sumptuous display of cakes & pastries as well as a full menu. We had generous & fresh salads for lunch which were good value, plus refreshing fresh lemonade....More

We ordered a Caesar salad with chicken and a salad with asparagus. The salad portions were generous and the chicken and asparagus very good. The lettuce was a little soft but still good. We had a chocolate nut sundae for desert which was more than...More

Café seit Mozarts Zeiten The first coffeehouse was opened at this location in 1794, three years after the death of W.A. Mozart. The Café Katzmayr located here was a popular meeting point for writers, artists, and actors during the Biedermeier period. In 1882 the old baroque house was torn down, and a Café was opened again in the present building which received the name Café Mozart in 1929. Here is where Graham Green worked on the screenplay of 'The third man' in 1947. A scene of this great classic film takes place in the street serving area of the Café Mozart. Enjoy the atmosphere of a traditional Viennese café without being bothered by smoke! For the Café Mozart is entirely a non-smoking café. If you wish to smoke you can do so on the terrace of our café or in the bar area of Crossfield’s Australian Pub next door.
