This is a family run, old-style Austrian restaurant catering mainly to local people. The food was well prepared and tasty. Prices were somewhat on the high side for such an establishment. Started with a beef Consommé. The soup contained a crispy baked "meat strudel" placed on top of a colorful variety of sliced carrots. Doesn't sound all that appealing but... More

This came highly recommended by travel guides but was not good. We didn't see the mouse but food not good at all. I ordered asparagus to start and when it arrived it was just the stalks chopped up and no spears. My partner ordered a cold meat starter and it arrived floating in balsamic vinegar and oil and was horrendous.... More

Oh man, I am torn about this place. As always, my better looking but more gastronomically challenged than a championship hot dog eater with irritable bowel syndrome partner and I were on the lookout for good gluten free food. Beim Czaak is a small restaurant that seems like more of a place locals would eat rather than tourists, and our... More

Found this place from a Lonely Planet recommend - and really glad we did. Doesn't look much from the outside, but serves good Austrian food (and beer and wine) and the service was good. No specific children's menu, just asked for a small portion for my young boy - which he absolutely loved! Good prices too - definitely recommend.

We had great food and a fun experience here. Our favorite moment came when the waiter said to the couple sitting next to us who had order a big beer, "We can only serve .5l, small country, small beer". Classic...

Despite advice on tripadvisor & being in our guidebook (or perhaps because it is in a guidebook) we were disappointed with our dinner . The portions were small - we ate bread to compensate (charged at 1€20 a roll here whereas 1€ elswhere) & the prices inflated for this type of restaurant. The service was indifferent. Too many tourists have... More

As a member of the larger group I have visited Beim Czaak. A nice place, close to the Old Town, but far enough not to be too close to the main stream of tourists. Good beer, nice vegetarian food. Pasta was amazing. Professional staff, some more emotions would be great (I know it is not easy when being crowded).

The prices are reasonable, shared starter and dessert, two mains and drinks for about 50€. The quality is good as well. Try the Surschnitzel. The pork is pink because it was packed salt first. Don't worry you won'tntaste the salt. It is the same as the pink color when you smoke pork. The are fewer tourists here and you can... More

Went at 6pm so was very quiet. Really warm welcome and friendly staff. Had the Haus schnitzel and it was delicious. Would recommend a visit.

Although this restaurant was a bit out of my way, it was definitely worth the extra walk. On a late November evening, I didn't need a reservation but would imagine more than 2-4 people would need one. Nice variety on the menu. I enjoyed an excellent pumpkin spaetzle. The service was friendly and prompt. Locals and tourists alike frequent this... More
