During a visit to Vienna, my husband and I were referred to this restaurant by the concierge at our hotel. We wanted a tasting menu experience and many fine dining restaurants are closed on Saturday night. The chef came to our table to discuss the menu options with us, which was quite the treat. The food and service was excellent.... More

UNACCETTABLE! Everything was fine, beautiful waiters, good food, honest prices, only a too cold look. That night the service was incredibly slow. We arrived a bit before 21 but started eating one hour later. We were on holiday so we could accept but after paid, I simply said: "It was all good only a little slow", without complaining. And the... More

Been here off and on over the years. Food is always realiable. Austrian, but light. Nice and price worthy luncheon menu based on the season. Had a wonderful fish soup and sautéed pike perch with roasted potatoes with vegetables. The atmosphere can be described as an upscale Viennese Beisel. Great service but not a place you can simply "get in... More

It is true, this restaurant is a little tucked away in a courtyard, but that definitely adds to the charm. No street noise but a calm and peaceful terrace. We had the early bird menu which was a true treat! We are quite critical about our food and are able to create a thing or two ourselves in the kitchen,... More

wonderful restaurant! the menu wasn't in english so the pastry chef came to walk us through it which was very kind. Mainly locals - so you know the food is good. had the early bird which was delicious and extremely reasonable. wine recommendation also a winner and the soufflé dessert was delightful! would recommend a 100%!

we had very good meal here with friends and children. The food was very good: Viennese with a modern touch. Good wines and the staff was very accommodating also to special needs (gluten free) and kids :-)

We decided to go with the 5 course degustation menu with wines after the maitre'd talked us through the menu. There is a new menu every week so it is only printed in German. After a very clear explanation we understood what we were going to eat. While restaurant has a relaxed decor tables are set with white linen and... More

Good tip from looking at TripAdvisor reviews, well worth a visit. We booked a table over the phone, the staff spoke perfect English. The menu was in German but the waitress was able to translate everything so we could choose what we wanted. Nice setting plenty of space between tables. Friday night when we visited they had live music, a... More

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
