Thank you for the great Feedback, Sanja ! :) Kind regards, Your Felsenkeller - Team
Had a business lunch here, cheap & plentiful of great food. Used mainly for business lunches from what I could see. In doors & outdoor places to eat, near a small shopping area plus an industrial area. Would I eat here again = yes please.
Among the best beer I sampled in Carinthia: a nice mix of German and American craft styles (though there was more of the former, the latter was well represented by a very nice double IPA). I also really enjoyed the food (I had gröstl —...heavy and somewhat greasy but very tasty); the setting (it's a neat building, with bar seating and lots of indoor and outdoor tables); and the service (a group of very friendly girls did their best to accommodate my terrible German). I only wish I had more time in the area so I could sample more from this place.More
On a hot summer day the outside garden looked very inviting and raised our expectations of this place. But we were let down by the service. The waitress seemed as if she didn't want to be serving us. Possibly annoyed by tourists? Or by the...fact that she had to work on a saturday. Either way, not an attitude I would expect from a waitress. Our German was pretty basic, they didn't have english menus, and the waitress wasn't prepared to help us with our order in any way. We met another waiter when we got the food. He dropped a few french fries into a friend's lap and didn't even bother with a sorry of any sort. When paying, the waitress took our money without returning the change. It wasn't much, less than an euro, but when I don't tell the waiter it's ok to keep the change, I expect them to return it. And we weren't planning on tipping them after a disppointing service. The food itself was pretty decent, up to expectations, but not above them.More
On a hot and sunny summer day, we deliberately chose “Felsenkeller” as the venue for lunch because it is situated at a cool, shady spot. Its interior with a bare stone wall and sturdy wooden tables without tablecloths was nice. Although it was not hot...inside we preferred the shady terrace, where the styling of the furniture resembles that of the interior. A perfect decision, since this turned out to be an airy place due to the light wind. The traffic noise, though at times a bit loud was for the most part not disturbing. The elegantly designed menu offered a very wide choice: numerous meat dishes, but also fish, filled pasta, creative salads and giant brown-bread slices with various rustic toppings. Service was rather minimalist and sluggish, but the waiting times for our meals were perfectly reasonable. Food was impeccable and would only have to be more ingenious to earn a fifth star. Considering the good food, the fairly large-sized portions and the decent atmosphere, prices were fair.More
We were in Klagenfurt supporting our children in the UWG. We were 20 parents and decided to have a night out and a break from the children. The Schleppe brau pub was the perfect place. Great brewed beer, 7 varieties, good BBQ food and good...attentive service. Our group, after eating, were able to move between our tables inside and the BBQ area, under canvas outside. This allowed smaller groups to form, it also allowed the smokers to avoid the tables. Many different dishes were ordered and the overall feeling was positive. I had the ribs which were great and my wife had grilled liver which was also very good. Overall a very positive and enjoyable experience!More
Visited here mid-afternoon. Enjoyed a stein of local Schleppe beer, I hand the Fleischnudel mit Biersauerkraut & Speckkrustl’n (Meat noodle with beer sauerkraut & bacon cracklings.) My partner had the Alt Kärntner Kasnudeln (Hirse) mit Speck grammerln (Old Carinthian cheese pasta (millet) with bacon cracklings.)...Both were perfectly prepared and delicious (pictures included.) We were able to sit outside which was nice due to it is a smoking establishment, but there is a great bar and inside restaurant. We had been motorcycling around the Klagenfurt area and it is nice to be able to come to a restaurant in the middle of the afternoon and get a hot meal.More
The service and the food/beverages were good (recipes with fresh seasonal vegetables, delicious meat and drinks). The atmosphere is quite nice and romantic. Costs and quality are adequate. Although Austria seems to be one of the latest countries in Europe where it is still allowed...to smoke in restaurants and in other public places, the rooms of Felsenkeller are NOT adequately separated so that the smokers will SURELY disturb your nice meal. We hope that they will take measures as to permit to non-smokers to enjoy the food and the rest!!! Thank you in advance.More
not sure everything is prepared freshly/made of fresh ingredients, but nice atmosphere and food.
