We landed here on a day during the holidays when not much else was open. We were pleasantly surprised. I am of Austrian descent and my mother is from Wels so we were looking for our midday meal and were thoroughly satisfied with this place! Great Liver dumpling soup and daily specials. Go here for lunch or dinner. Reasonably priced.

If you visit Wels you must go and eat at least once in Gosserbrau. Its a nice traditional restaurant with traditional waiters warring traditional clothes ( Some of them at least). Nice food, fast service, normal prices.

I visited this brewery with friends - received a recommendation at our hotel. Brand beer - probably the only thing that is worth to go there. Location - perfect for tourists: there are "worn" interior, tired and serious waiters, mediocre food. The atmosphere is complemented by visitors businessmen conducting winter evening in the company of their friends. there is no... More

Great food and beer. It's European so u need to tolerate the smoke. Very friendly, pass the bread bowl around, kind of Bier Garten. If you ever end up in Wels, this is the place.

This place was recommended by our hotel Alexander Bayrischer Hof as when checking in we were advised their own bar and restaurant were closed Sat/Sun which we were unaware of when booking despite having stayed there midweek numerous times before. It was a fair walk from the hotel on what was a very cold evening but worthwhile. We were impressed... More

My hotel recommended this place, because it was 100 m away - but it was an excellent recommendation. A typical Brauhaus with large wooden tables. Smoking and non-smoking, which is amazing for Europe. Friendly waitress which placed me at a table for 10, which eventually had an Italian, a Scandinavian and me, a Britisher as diners. Had delicious warm, fresh... More

When we first came all seats were taken, so we waited for cca 10 min... The service was ok, the food was excellent, the beer also. Prices reasonable. Lot of local people eat here and that's always a good sign :)

What else does one need ? In summer they offer an big nice beer garden with a great atmosphere, with beautiful big trees guarding you from the heat of the sun with just enough space between the leafs to make you feel comfortable. In Winter one will find big rooms full of loud people and that fun atmosphere.

Thank Racoal
