Nice Greek food on Malta's Sliema's Waterfront. Typical outdoor cafe, tables are ok, not fancy but good food. They do have indoor seating but much more charming outside across the waterfront, so some water views and we ate early enough (before 7 pm) so there were plenty of unoccupied outside tables. They did fill up later, so probably best to rsvp. However its on a busy street, so this is NOT a quite romantic place to get a meal. We did not expect that, so were happy w/getting dinner w/out a reservation and people watching. Service was friendly and the place is casual and unhurried. Had a shrimp dish, not huge and shrimp served w/heads on, but they were nicely seasoned and had plenty for my dinner. I think they came w/fries or with potatoes. Also split a Greek salad which was tasty and large enough to share with lots of good quality Feta. Husband ordered a chicken souvlaki platter, as he wanted something basic. It was nicely seasoned and while slightly different than the traditional souvlaki it was tender/grilled and not overly salted. Taziki sauce was traditional, they did charge a few euro's exta when asked for more taziki sauce as we ran out before finishing the chicken, but that maybe the norm around Malta..not sure, at home in US in Greek restaurants they never charge extra for this sort of thing, but we did not really care about a few euro's. Pita's were an odd yellow color but tasty and asked waiter, turned out they were corn pitas not flour pitas. Possibly Gluetin Free, not sure. They did taste great overall and were fresh and warm. We did not have room for dessert. The menu is extensive with traditional Greek Items and we were craving Greek food after having traveled thru Spain and in Malta eating a lot of Italian. Service was friendly and efficient. I would not hesitate to recommend this place or to eat there again if I am ever traveling to Sliema again.

A fantastic restaurant with great food and live music a few nights per week. Customer service is fantastic, particularly from James who was friendly and helpful, letting us know about any specials that hadn't quite made it on the menu yet. Sharing platters are amazing, cocktails are great value (particularly during happy hour) and other dishes on the menu are always very tasty. We will definitely be returning next time we come to Malta! From the UK couple who kept ordering cocktails :)

After reading a number of positive views on Trip Advisor we decided to venture to Opa! during our visit in Sliema. We were greeted on arrival and though encouraged to sit outside because there was a mishap with the air conditioning indoors, the owner was very understanding with the fact that we weren’t smokers and preferred to sit indoors. It was a pity as there was a singer who was obviously drawing in more customers and we do love music. Yes, it was chilly but this did not dampen our views on the venue. The owner spent time describing and recommending meals to us from the menu and we chose the Greek Platter as a starter! There was so much on the platter and it really didn’t matter that we weren’t keen on olives! Ha ha! The mains didn’t disappoint either Prawns in a Tomato based sauce and Moussaka. By the end we had no room for anything dessert. Highly recommend.

We were attracted to this restaurant because of its Mediterranean menu and like most establishments along the strand it was busy during the evening and we were unable to secure an outside table so were shown to a table indoors. We soon realised that we were sitting in the foyer of the ES Hotel which was odd as hotel residents were constantly passing our table. We placed our orders and waited and waited and finally our main courses arrived being two Souvlaki which were overcooked. Our starters never arrived although they were included on the bill with other items we did not consume. The staff here were un-attentive, the food overcooked and dry and we were overcharged. Whilst we secured an apology we would not return.

Genuine welcome not pushy at all, and the food choice portion size and taste is all excellent 👌 Great prices too...4 meals and drinks then 4 cocktails under €140.00. In 3 days we've been there twice and will be back before we leave. Excellent find.

Opa! was so much more than I expected, it was probably our favourite night of the trip! I had organised to take my company on a business retreat and had been in touch with various venues via email regarding dinner for 46 people. This is complicated enough but then add on to the fact that we needed to all be seated in an area where we could network and circulate, as well as hoping to enjoy the al fresco nature of European dining, and you can see how the venues really had their work cut out for them! The communication with Cristina in advance was great and they were very patient with my many demands. On arrival, Julian introduced himself and his colleague, James, who would be organising the night for us. They had provided us with an outside covered area which felt very private, but was still just off-street so we felt like a part of the Malta nightlife. We were delighted to find that they had booked live music for us and the young singer was absolutely fantastic; the repertoire covered all of the Brit favourites and I had to repeatedly apologise to Julian for the noise, as our party became quite raucous, so big thanks to him for his patience! James was an absolute character and clearly loves his job - he really made us laugh. The food was excellent, cold and hot mezze and more than enough choice for everyone. The drinks came out quickly and the service could not have been more efficient. We stayed at the restaurant for many hours and I honestly can't recommend these guys enough - it was a fantastic experience!

Food was less than average, both of us had chicken souvlaki meat was tough, fries were over cooked and hard. We had to ask for the bill multiple times, the restaurant manger was to busy entertaining new customers, I just wish he could see what was happening around him and taste the food he serving..!! Don’t go!! Better choices along the silema front to choose from.. #youwontregretreadingthispost

We chose this restaurant because it served fresh fish & the head waiter was very personable. The table next to us ordered a fish dish 2 mins before us. Their food arrived ours took at least a further 45 minutes. When it arrived we waited a further 10 minutes for our plates. Hence the large sea bass went cold. The head waiter appeared less interested once he’d sold us the fish. In all the food was good however the service extremely disappointing.

Went for happy hour. They had buy 1 get 1 free on cocktails and some great small plates / appetizers. The food was delicious and well portioned and reasonably priced; they had live music and our server James was absolutely hilarious! We had a lovely time.

I came for a glass of Prosecco but I also got something small to eat so I ordered this fried feta saganaki cheese that was in a honey sauce and coated in sesame seeds… delish! Then I saw some pizzas in other tables that I had to try…I chosen salumi pizza, omg amazing experience, period. 👌✨

Excellent!!. This is a very welcoming place serving a menu of excellent plates and platters to share along with cocktails, wine and beers. Thanks also to Julian the manager who served us with top service and attention. The environment around us was great. I recommend this place.

The food was so good that we visited 3 times on our holiday. I particularly enjoyed the pizza parmigiana, the halloumi pizza and the halvae for dessert, although I would also recommend the pistachio dessert (not entirely sure if it was a mousse or something else - whatever it was, it was creamy and delicious). The staff were very polite and friendly. The service was a little slow at busier times, but that was to be expected due to the sheer popularity of the restaurant, and when we visited at a later time it was a lot quicker.

We weren't too hungry, we thought we'd have 2 salads. 1 burrata, 1 chicken haloumi salad. Water and bottle of white wine were OK. The waiters were trying hard. Everything seemed hectic. About the chicken/haloumi salad: The chicken pieces were over-seasoned and fatty, no lean meat, you could hardly tell the yoghurt dressing, the haloumi - well. The bread roll/butter side dish was poor. (Sloppy, soft) So we ordered another portion of pita. It was warm but no revelation. Overall, the cost of goods was low. For a chicken/haloumi salad for €16, what was offered was completely inadequate. It must be acknowledged that the boss tried to limit the damage and reduced the bill by 10% on his own initiative. 2 ouzo were also on the house! Oh yes, the live music was very 👍 good!

Very much recommended! We have visited this restaurant more than once and it never dissapoints. Very attentive waiters, that are ready to help and assist in choosing the best meal since we are intolerant to dairy products. On our visit today, we took a pizza tonnata to share as starters and the gemista as mains. All was very tasty and as it should be. Try it and you won't be disappointed!

Great food, good service, Pleasesnat Staff. we just loved this place. The first night we passed this by thinking it was just another restaurant. The head waiter did his sales pitch, but it was not pressing, in fact, we deiced later he was so nice we'd give it a try another night. Glad we did. The food was great, original, and very 'Med fusion' and we were perfectly relaxed. Made for a perfect evening for the 2 of us. It perhaps doesn't 'look' the best of places to eat, but don't be fooled, IT IS.
