Seems to have gone down hill since our last visit. My husband had shepherds pie, which was bland and watery. The macaroni cheese was OK but nothing special. Service very slow. Chips could have done to be browned more. We have used this place a lot when travelling North, don't think we will be back. Quite expensive for the quality.... More

Lovely wee cafe to stop and have a meal or a cuppa with home baking. A bit pricey for a cafe but to be fair the food and service are faultless. Everything is spotlessly clean and you get service with a smile. Nice wee stove lit all day in the winter which adds to the charm. Tables and chairs outside... More

This resturant offers great food and mainly from locally sourced ingreadants. Whether you are just popping in for a coffee or a full meal you will not be disappointed with the quality of the food or the service. Well worth the visit.

I'm not sure what the negative reviewers expect from a cafe. It doesn't have fast food, pseudo American staff or fine dining but it was clean and cosy with a fire burning, great on a direct day. The waitress was pleasant, the coffee was good and hot, the toasted sandwiches were well filled and tasty and the home made cakes... More

For various reasons I ended up using this cafe twice in a week. I had reservations because of the negative reviews but came away happy both times. I think a bit of expect ion management might be needed. This is a small, local operation which doesn't pretend to be anything fancy. The decor is a bit dated but it's clean... More

As the title says don't bother, the poor signposting is obviously a bonus to allow you to miss the entrance for this place. My wife and I stopped off here today for lunch, on entering the cafe there were only about 8 customers sitting at 3 separate tables so they were not busy. The couple who entered the cafe just... We visited here last week and were more that an little dismayed at the price of the food- sure that cafe is cute and in a nice location but the presentation of the food left a lot to be desired.A bacon and sausage roll came just as that-one sausage and one slice of bacon plonked on a plain roll, no... Lovely little tearoom. Home baking, soup, sandwiches. Very welcoming. The only thing I would suggest is a large notice maybe about quarter of a mile before, to allow advance warning for decision to drop in. At the moment you are on top of it before you realise it's there (unless you're local). And it's really not to be missed 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

We visited on a dreich day , on the way to Peebles. There was a lovely friendly welcome, and a cosy log fire burning to warm away chills. The place is a little old-fashioned , but clean and comfortable. The food is good , wholesome , and home-made with an excellent selection of home - baking . There's a selection... More
