My husband and I stayed very close by so thought a visit to the Perlan would be nice as it was all lit up at night so assumed it was open. We walked through the park up the hill which was quite easy given the steep and there's a few WW2 sites along the way that were interesting too. The... More

On 2nd January we walked up the steep icy hill to Perlan but found it closed! Lots of workmen around and the pedestrian area around the building was littered with large air con units and ventilation paraphernalia. A hand made sign was posted on the door advising "We are closed - definitely". Nothing to indicate if it was closed permanently... More

My wife and I visited the Perlan for a 2016 new years eve buffet. The trip was booked through GJ Travel and was very well organised with a shuttle bus from our hotel doorstep to the venue. The venue itself is very impressive with a commanding 360 degree view over Reykjavik. The buffet was very nice with plenty of choice... More

Good views of Reykjavik from here (and they're free!) but there's not much else going on. Have heard it's another good place to see the Northern Lights when it's dark enough without having to travel far.

Moore than two months in advance we have made the reservation for the Perlan restaurant. We received the confirmation by mail that they will offer a a la carte menue. When we arrived at 7:30p.m we saw a Buffett. Asking about our confirmation we were told that they only offer a buffet-menue and than the sentence of the manager "we... More

It is closing down and maybe that is the best idea. Prices are in no compare with service and food. Average wine. Thank god the company was great!

The view was wonderful and magical! We had dinner there on a Monday evening and it was nearly full, a very popular place to the local I suppose! The buffet spread was good, we got to try some Islandic food, was interesting. One small hing though, the buffet doesn't come with coffee/tea, hence we have to ordered and pay extra.... More

We had our second last night dinner there! Loved the ambience, the food taste great! Would have loved it more if the portion is more consistent.

The views were great! Go up to the viewing deck to take in the views from their 360 degree view of Reykjavik.

Went up for breakfast from our nearby hotel. Very good quality and choice in their cafe. There is a balcony around the building providing 360 degree views over Reykjavik and the surrounding areas. We managed to see the northern lights over the mountains to the north
