They had a good burger with a different spin on it. Instead of the classic meat we are used to it was filled with pulled beef. It was quite nice.

It took a bit of time for the food to arrive, but when it did it was introduced by the chef with a full description. The meals were exquisite. The Shellfish Soup was rich withy fall ours, the Gravlax was melt in the mouth, and this was just the starters. Mains of Trout (Fish of the day) and the Langoustine... More

Nice modern restaurant with excellent food. Had to go there two times during my 3 day stay in Reykjarvik.

The food is ok. No better than "pub grub". The service is poor with the young staff more interested in each other than with their customers. Would I recommend it, I think I would have to say no.

We were recommended to visit Mar and were not disappointed. Our visit was for a late lunch and the restaurant was quiet. We chose from the good options of fresh fish, with no whale on the menu that is common in other establishments, and soon attractively presented dishes arrived, simply cooked and were very tasty. Service was good too. The... More

Really recommend a visit to the bar and the restaurant. The bartenders are really good making tasty and refreshing drinks! The food is top quality and eating fish at this place is a must when visiting Reykjavik.

We were given Mar as a suggested eating place after we had finished whale watching as on the back of our tickets gave us 15% off. We ordered 2 steak sadwiches and a childs burger, both with sweet potato fries. Both meals were gorgeous. It was a lovely restaurant with a nice atmosphere. Also there was a bar in a... More

We found out about this restaurant through our Elding Whale watching excursion in which they offered us a 10% discount coupon for this restaurant for after our tour. We decided to take advantage of this since we were spending the whole day downtown in Reykjavik. The restaurant was right at the harbour. It wasn't very busy at the time we... More
