This bakery will be one of the things we will miss most about Reykjavik! The almond croissants, pan au chocolate and the danish pastries were second to none. We grabbed them to takeaway twice during our trip before a long day of road tripping and...they were the most heavenly way to start the day.More

We stumbled into Sandholt after an overnight flight to get some breakfast. What an amazing place! The breakfast was wonderful and we returned often for the pastries and sandwiches to take along on our trips out of town.

Sandholt was well reviewed so I thought I’d check it out for breakfast. The food was good and so was the service. I’ll def go back next time I’m in Reykjavik.

Not the best and not the worst. I got the waffle which was alright…nothing to write home about. My husband got the cheesesteak which was really flavorful and delicious.

This place is always busy for a reason! Fantastic pastries, coffee, and hot meals. You can get pastries to-go, or sit down to eat (there may be a wait. but its worth it.) The kleina (traditional Icelandic donut) should not be missed!

Sandholt is a bakery, café & pastry-shop located in Laugavegur, the pedestrian part of the centre. It is a 4th generation family bakery and sells delicious breads & pastries and serves breakfasts, soft drinks, lunch meals, coffees, pastries & sandwiches. The café is popular with...locals, by-passers and tourists. You can have your coffee or lunch inside or at the small terrace. Service is adequate and very friendly. We stayed at the Sand hotel next door, and were impressed by the excellent bread from Sandholt bakery we had for breakfast. Later on a city walking tour the bakery was tempting for coffee. The place was packed, a good sign. We went for cappuccino & latte macchiato with croissant, scones & clotted cream and Danish cinnamon pastry. The coffee was very good and the pastries were excellent. Sandholt bakery is a very good place for a coffee break or a lunch. Highly recommended.More

Absolutely delicious pastries - and equally delicious breakfast if you want to eat in. Breakfast salad - who knew - but I'd go back to Reykjavik just for their breakfasts and pastries!

We found this gem while we were staying at the SandHotel next door. The first time we stopped in for pastries and coffee. Everything looked so incredible. They also had amazing sandwiches on fresh baked bread so we stopped in again for lunch. I am...a sucker for fresh homebaked bread. I already miss it now that I'm home.More

Good luck trying to make a choice here as their pastry display is delightful. Opted for the carrot cake and mmm'd with every bite!

Really amazing bread, sandwiches and pastries. Lovely staff. My only slight niggle was one member of staff who seemed to have an issue handling cash and was a bit rude about it. I guess card is the norm these days.

This place can get packed with folks looking to grab a seat and eat in. You can also get pastries and breads to go. We grabbed an awesome loaf of sour dough and some cheese to sustain us on the road.

Waiters are incapable of taking the order due to language difficulties. We had to talk to two different waiters to get our order and they served it wrong anyways. We were two and only one of us got the food we ordered. On the plus...side the coffee is good. We got different sized beverage and they charge the same. See picture. The standard is worse than before, we used to come here regularly but now I guess we will not come here as often.More

very busy bakery in the heart of Reykjavik. line is shorter for the bakery and longer to sit inside to eat. they have 3 areas (restaurant, bakery and coffee) we bought 2 times from the bakery which had fresh sandwiches, sweets and breads. Easiest is to...grab food to go. Great service at the counterMore

Like most food in Iceland, it's expensive. 2 coffees, 2 cappucino and two muffins was about $30 USD
