We walked past this bakery on the way to our hotel and had to stop in. Bought their passion fruit desert along with a chocolate passion fruit desert to take back to the hotel. Wow, it was great! Went back each night we were in town. If you like sweets, don't miss out.

In the winter it was hard to find places open early, but they opened at 6:30am. Perfect for us early morning folks who had early trips planned. The pastry was amazing. I had several types during my stay and will miss the flaky, buttery goodness, accompanied by the creamy, warmth of the latte. We had a large group and had... More

I came here to get a few croissants and sandwiches to takeaway this morning (26th Feb). The lady who served me should not be working here until she recieves some training in customer service, she came across as abrupt, rude and unaccomodating. Unfortunately service is almost as important as the food sometimes. Anyway the sandwiches and criossants were average and... More

I came in during a strong storm, to get some tea and warm up for a bit. I waited for a few minutes for a staff member to even acknowledge my presence as I stood at the "please wait here to be seated" sign. I made eye contact and smiled at several of the staff. Nope. That wasn't working. Then... More

I am a big fan of both mango and coconut but wasn't expecting either in Iceland. Sandholt makes this pie that is both mango and coconut and also both creamy and crispy and just delicious! They also had great bread and cinnamon rolls. Found good vegetarian options here too.

Like most people, our flight into Reykjavik arrived gruesomely early in the day and our rental would not be ready for hours. Bakery Sandholt, recommended by our building manager, absolutely saved the day. My husband, two teen sons and I staggered in from the airport exhausted, starving and cranky and emerged (full of coffee and lovely breakfast) if not miraculously... More

We found this place while getting pastries early in the morning, and it was packed with early travelers. A very good selection of breakfast items for us (including pancakes, granola, croissants, toast, sandwiches) They also have plenty of sandwiches to grab for later that day. Large selection of craft beers too.

Great variety, this one open early everyday including weekends. I ordered the quiche and didn't care for it but the cinnamon roll was good. My hubby loved the blueberry scones and the coffee was good!

This is the most amazing bakery. We went there twice during our short stay in Reykjavik. The pastries and other items were not only beautiful, but so very good. The Swiss Mocha coffee was delicious. They also have just regular coffee which was strong but good. The first visit we had the cinnamon bun, yum. The second visit, we had... More

This was near our hotel on Laugavegi. It featured good breads, sweet rolls, and interesting sandwiches. A sandwich cost about $9-$10 American, which was not really that bad in Reykjavik Everything was fresh and the service was decent. We ate breakfast, lunch, and purchased some bread and pastries from Sandholt.
