Lovely cafe found on the street up to the cathedral. Excellent value especially the specials. Busy when we went but food and drinks came out pretty quick. Friendly group of staff with a wonderful toilet! Excellent coffee and a great range of tea's

This coffee shop is our favourite in Reykjavik and remains so after 4 visits / breaks in the town. It is our main 'go to' coffee shop, in winter or warmer months. It has a quirky almost eclectic feel to it (check out the Star Wars themed bathroom and upstairs the chalk wall for writing on). We love the coffee... More

This is a quirky little place with charmingly mismatched chairs and tables and lots of kitschy stuff sitting around. (Check out the weird upstairs bathroom.) I got the feeling that someone had gone around to junk shops and garage sales collecting interesting things to stick in the restaurant. We enjoyed glasses of hot chocolate, but I was a little disappointed... More

We had cappuccinos and dessert here and were not disappointed. I ordered the Nutella Cheesecake and was pleased with the portion slice. Just being constructive I would suggest larger cappuccino cups. Many thanks atmosphere chilled experience excellent. X

A lovely little café, we got there just as it opened on a Sunday morning and enjoyed a cappuccino and pancakes- yum! The staff were really friendly and chilled, the décor is fun and cosy. Nothing not to like!

Chance upon this cafe while we were walking down Skólavörðustígur... The atmos is quite cool even though the area is small. The food taste good :) It will be a nice place to chill-out... Cheers!

The food was decent and the drinks were pretty good. I ordered the lamb soup, but definitely not as hearty as I had hoped. It was a cute space, but a bit crowded. It was a fine enough experience, but not anything to write home about.

Very cute and quirky little place. Staff were very helpful and pleasant and the coffee was nice and strong. great place to sit and watch passers by and take the weight off your feet for a little bit.

Nice hot chocolate, ordinary soups and paninis. We loved the upstairs, like somebody's Bohemian sitting room, and all the quirky decor.

Coffee and ambiance is the plot at Cafe Babalu. A story of a coffeeshop with good character(s), a colorful interior and an inexpensive pricetag.
