As many others have said, try to rye bread ice cream! It's not at all what I expected, and was delicious.

It is a beautifully located restaurant with a beautiful view of the church. Among the Icelandic meals my favorite is the lamb soup, I ate it here too. Nothing special, average taste. It's worth a visit because of the view.

I loved the flatbread with smoked lamb and my husband thought the rye bread ice cream was terrific. Also a really interesting mural on the second floor.

This was my favorite meal in Reykjavik! We went for an early dinner and there was no wait for a table-it's a small restaurant so I can imagine it getting very crowded later. They have lots of traditional Icelandic food choices, but we stuck with...More

They are polite and friendly, which is the most important thing for a place serving food or drinks in my opinion. The soup is ok and the price is alright for Iceland. But nothing very special. Maybe I should have been more adventurous and ordered...More

We had heard about Cafe Loki and how it was the most "authentic" Icelandic cuisine, and we had to check it out. I ordered the lamb soup with lamb pate on rye bread. We also split an appetizer of the fermented shark, which was absolutely...More

Reykjavik is not the best city for parking. Most of it is street parking, and you'll need to buy a permit at the kiosk. If you're not impaired, walking is usually faster and less frustrating.
