We didn't have all three of our last dinner meals here during our stay in town just because it was in our hotel building. Simply put, our experiences just kept getting better. Excellent service, perfectly prepared food and, yes, it was just minutes away from...our room. The star of the show was a young man, Valentino, who displayed superior talents as a waiter, mixologist and leader of a very sharp front room staff. I'm sure that his influence in the kitchen was felt, as well. Oh, yes, one of our desserts was a slice of freshly made carrot cake that was the best that I've had in years. Best to make a rez for dinner as the eatery is quite popular and one might have a bit of a wait otherwise.More

With all the options of a great dining experience in Reykjavik, we came here twice. The food, the drinks and the exceptional service made this a great experience.

Wonderful friendly service. Good food and drink selections that were excellently prepared. Our group of 7 thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. We recommend the beer sampler.

Service was good but the fish &chips was disappointing … no salt on the fries and no taste on the fish. Skip this place in my humble opinion

The hotel we stayed at for the first part of our trip to Iceland was the Alda. We dined 6 times spread over 12 days at their restaurant called Brass Kitchen & Bar. On New Years Day my wife had Fish & Chips ($A52), I...had Beef Tenderloin ($A75) and the bottle of House wine cost $A70. The next day my wife had Chicken Salad costing $A32 and I got a Steak Tenderloin that cost $A61. A glass of House wine cost $10. Four days later we both had Fish (Icelandic Cod) & Chips (gluten and dairy free). The next day we went with their hamburgers (Classic Burger), that where lot less expensive ($A35) than the previous main meals we had been having. Two more nights following we again had burgers. I had the Classic and my wife had the Blue Cheese burger (without the cheese). The staff were professional & very accommodating (taking into consideration our gluten & dairy allergies) and the food was very nice. Considering we ate here 6 times I can say this restaurant is recommended.More

Really great fish and chips! The fish was so fresh and had a lovely batter. I opted for the gluten free version due to my intolerance and I thought it was fantastic. The portion was huge and I could barely finish it. If you are...going to order the fish and chips here, you need to leave a lot of stomach room 😅 it was well worth the money! Nice and cosy inside, me and my friend talked for hours we were so comfortable. Highly recommend if you are in the area.More

We recently spent three nights in Reykjavik. We were walking down Laugarvegur, one of the city's main dining and shopping districts, and I saw Brass' desserts in the window. So, we stopped by for dinner. I had a good lamb burger and my partner had...a good fish and chips. He took a piece of carrot cake back to our hotel and he liked it. We had dinner at an upscale restaurant on our second night. Feeling "fooded out" on our third night (after an eleven-day cruise), we returned to Brass for an early dinner with our two traveling companions and we each thoroughly enjoyed the fish and chips. You receive three hunks of perfectly breaded and fried Icelandic cod. The staff was very pleasant and they know how to make a good old fashioned. Brass is a great place for a relaxed meal and people watching.More

We were staying at the Alda for 5 nights and unintentionally ended up eating at Brass every evening! Artic char and the seafood soup were great as well as the fish and chips and burgers which my son preferred. Great service and nice atmosphere at...all times. We plan to come back to Reykjavik again in January next year and will no doubt visit this restaurant again. Prices were very reasonable and the Gull beer was also very good.More

We had a delicious dinner. The house special drink was tasty enough for a second. The Atlantic char was well cooked and the vegetables we crispy. My friend was excited to find a gluten free fish and chips. Would definitely recommend

My husband has coeliac disease so it can be difficult to find places that not only offer gluten free options, but also somewhere that you trust. There were plenty of options to choose from but he went with the lamb burger which came on a...gluten free bun and the waiter explained that the fries were gluten free and cooked separately to other food. He said the burger was the best he had ever tasted!! I had a chicken burger (not gluten free) which was also amazing!! We were so impressed with the service and food that we went back the following night for the same thing. The staff are very knowledgeable on food allergies and were very friendly. Highly recommend and would return again during future visits to Iceland.More

Stopped early one afternoon for a quick snack & a beer. The french fries were amazing! Very hot w/parmesan cheese sprinkle on top! Wonderful mid-day snack! Went back for dinner, on 2 different nights. We had the fish & chips & the chicken salad with...berries & cashew nuts both nights.....they were that good! Took friends with the us second night and they had the classic burgers and LOVED them!!! The staff was so friendly & helpful. The atmosphere was perfect and it was kinda nice to sit near the window and watch the people & the world go by! Definitely a place to stop for a good meal w/ a wonderful staff! Wed hope to go back again.More
