Make no mistakes about it. Iceland is beautiful and unlike anywhere else I have been. But it is EXPENSIVE!!!!! We managed to get lost having programmed the GPS wrong and were hungry and looking for a meal that was not going to cost an arm and a leg. And lo and behold an IKEA appeared in the distance. A "really,... More

Eating out is very expensive in Iceland. One exception is the Ikea restaurant which serves the typical Ikea menu for basically the same price as in the USA.

It is the cheapest restaurant in Iceland, but you do not need to be disappointed. You get what you pay for, well you pay a lot less than any other place... It is the busiest restaurant and there is no service at the tables, you clean up after you your self. Go for some desserts to, they will not disappoint... More

Ikea is the perfect back up plan on every holiday. Great food at a reasonable price, crèche and some wondering around planning what your life could look like if you cleared out all your stuff!

This it the cheapest restaurant in Iceland with nice food. You can either have open face sandwiches or hot food that includes salmon, meatballs and other various food. Very good food for the price of one third everywhere else ☺

Visited on "Sprengidagur" the day before Mardi Gras for the traditional "Saltkjöt og baunir" meal for this day. You can count on Ikea for having traditional turkey, smoked lamb etc. On relevant days or times of year. They also have open face sandwiches, swedish meatballs and other options, all at a very reasonable price. You do need to pass through... More

My group of 3 and I hit the IKEA restaurant before flying out back to the US. We had had read that food was very reasonably priced. We were delighted at how true it was. We wanted to buy a big meal before our 6 hour flight and we were able to eat very well for $20 a head including... More

We new that we'd be passing Ikea when driving from the international airport (in Keflavik) to Akranes so we'd decided to call in for some food. What surprised us was the number of other customers that were in the restaurant at 18.00 on a Saturday night! The salmon was good value by Icelandic standards and was to normal Ikea standards.... The IKEA restaurant was the same as anywhere else in the world with wonderful Swedish meatballs and a big furniture store which was hard to get out of. The attraction on Sunday afternoon is the families with the kids on their Sunday best. A fun experience before returning our rental car and catching an afternoon flight.
