Touristic trap. Not Ok for us. Long waits, not friendly and over prices. If you want to grab some food and you do not mind the quality ......

The food was veryg good, the starter was yummy and for main course we ate the fish of the day: cod with mash and a nice tomato sauce.

Sadly only popped in for a beer and soup but was not disappointed what so ever. Service was good, location perfect, great atmosphere...but the soup was awesome. Almost went back later that day to have it again. Highly recommend.

On a cold rainy and windy day we stopped here for a bowl of Icelandic meat soup. It was delicious. The restaurant was cozy and warm.

We ate here after we had been on a whale watching trip,so didn't get there till about 3. That was not a problem and we were given a really great meal. I had the meat soup which was amazing, and our friend had no trouble getting a vegetarian meal. The weather was very sunny so we sat outside and watched... More

On a cold and rainy day the sea food soup was an excellent choice :)The place is located at the harbor of Husavik where you can see the fishing boats out of the windows.

It's a very lovely place where you can eat very good fish and meat, served with delicious vegetables. Price on average for icelandic standard. Main dish, draft beer and dessert around 50 euro

After finishing a 3 hour whale watching tour with North Sailing, my son and I stopped here to have a bite for dinner before heading out to our accommodations for the night. Portions are very large. My son had the BBQ chicken with potatoes while I tried the Arctic Char with pesto and barley risotto. The char was perfectly cooked... More

I'd read how this place used to be king in Husavik, but the crown has definitely passed to Naustid. At Gamli, the fish was fresh but the kitchen couldn't match the complicated menu, so risotto was poor, when plain boiled potatoes would have been better. Hopefully it was an end of season day.

We had lunch in Gamli Baukur on a wonderful day. The seating area outside was lovely with a great view on the harbour. Sadly the size of our soups in the ratio of what we paid was very disappointing and we left still feeling hungry. So the food was quite enjoyable, but quite overpriced and too small portions.
