Eating in Iceland is expensive - everywhere! The Viking Village restaurant is an interesting place to eat. Its Viking theme is well done. The food is fine - not gastronomic, but quite acceptable. It was worth visiting for the atmosphere and surroundings, but the bill meant I wouldn't visit again.

Awesome food like lamb chops and whale meat. Interior is based on a viking tavern with intricate detail. There are many pictures on the walls depicting the old settlements. Over all a great place to eat in Reykjavik.

As we entered the restaurant we were greeted by a warm atmosphere and friendly staff. The menu was ok but drink selection was limited, we both went for fish & chips which were tasty but at kr3,900 each (roughly £20) it was expensive, for dessert we had skyr cake which was also nice. Overall we had a good experience and... More

The building is very fun and the whole viking theme allows for a fun dining experience. I was here for the 23rd Dec. Christmas buffet, very authentic and tasty food, little bit pricey but worth it.

Food mediocre, expensive prices . Unless you're having their buffet, very limited choices. However, very nice staff and fast service.

Wow! December 4, 2015 we had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant for their Viking Christmas Buffet/Feast! We were welcomed warmly and promptly seated; within a short time our server came to take our drink order and we were then ready to head to the viking longboat that was filled with all types of delicious offerings! One side offered... More

Delicious plates of food in a 'viking' atmosphere. Nice wood carvings and things to look at, like the aquarium above the bar. The menu had limited selections, it may have been the off-season. I liked the fish soup and the cod plate, while my daughter liked the hamburger with salad.

We had an evening meal ere on our final night in Iceland. The staff were dressed in Viking costume and were good natured and happy. The whole place is jammed with knick knacks and artefacts from the Viking culture and is great to look at. The food was fair and the portions are enormous. Not cheap but nothing in this... More
