I'm glad the restaurant is open again. Had very nice lunch (risotto with asparagus) and even nicer wine. Friendly staff to chat with.

Our dinner with asparagus risotto and a bottle of Jansz made our day perfect. Everything was just simply good!

A bit hidden location, space for, say 24 quests, the style is traditional as well as the list: no pulled oats, bulgur or that kind of bull...t. A warm welcome, a couble of menu choises, meat, fish, veg. We were four, ending to four starters, Morel soup with tarragon Creme Fraiche, Slightly salted salmon with yoghurt, red onion and lime,... I had a dinner for two at the classic restaurant Karljohan. The place has been around for a long time and was recently renovated with a more modern look. It's a popular lunch restaurant and was only half full in the evening of our visit. The menu has several classics from the French cuisine, but also a clear Finnish focus.... More

Karl Johan has excellent lunch and dinner menu. Some Finnish and international classic food with high standards. Family owned and run for 30 years already. Restaurant just had the renovation and it is looking very nice too.

We popped in for lunch on Saturday. The menu was somewhat limited and quite different to the weekday buffet they offer. The service was great and I ordered the minced elk with mashed potatoe, which was tasty. It came with beetroot, which I loved was well presented. Thoroughly good lunch.

The interior of Karljohan promises sophistication and elegance - and the food does not disappoint. It boasts classic dishes, cooked perfectly. My main was a pike fillet and was absolutely delicious. Perhaps the only thing that didn't blow us away was the chocolate fondant for dessert. Our waiter was attentive and pleasant. Price wise, my dining companion and I considered... More

This restaurant is very happily situated. Its style is Scandinavian and I'd say smart casual, not too fine dining. Lunch and dinner have been great, and I love their Austrian white wines.
