Great atmosphere, very friendly service, good food and drinks. The köttbullar including all sides were really good. Everything on the menu sounded great - will be back!

Beautifully located in centre Stockholm offers poor food experience. Despite the high rank reviews, this restaurant seems more concerned in selling their location than their culinary selection. It is obvious when the beef tartare is simply made of machined minced meat, not even seasoned. Feel...free to check whether I am lying or not by having a look to the picture I have posted. Enough said.More

I believe that 'Bakficka' literally means back-pocket in Swedish. This is a good description in a very positive sense. This restaurant shares the kitchen with the Opera restaurant, but is a more informal version with seating at the bar, or at high tables on the...side. The food is excellent, as is the service. The ambience is very pleasant. Cool place.More

Amazing place that is not fussy but high quality and such a hit with locals that you know you can't go wrong. Sit at the counter or around the edge of the single room with the same kitchen serving the larger restaurant next door. Choose...from the menu or take the specials with food being such a high standard and quickly served. Cannot fault it.More

Arriving for a cruise, I had ONE DAY to break off from the mob in Stockholm and experience the perfect herring and the perfect meatballs -- and found both at lunch here. Seated (as a single) at an outside table, I opened with a four-herring...medley as a starter (yumX4); then followed with those meatballs in a pleasant creamy sauce accompanied by dreamy pureed potatoes, pickled cucumber salad and a splash of bright lingonberries. Service was surprisingly friendly (the waiter offered a gratis sampling of a local beer and aquavit, to make sure I was doing it right, etc.) considering I was hogging a two-seat table alone. In every way, this was a marvelous introduction to Swedish classics and hospitality.More

Great location near our hotel for the first night meal. The food was good and we got to sit outside on a sunny day. It was a little expensive. The waiter was efficient but not necessarily friendly.would recommend it for families with older kids or...couplesMore

This is a neat place for lunch being right next to the Royal Opera. Small but excellent food and good wine. My suggestion would be to get the oysters plus fish (it's a large portion), and perhaps the cured salmon as a starter. The meat...balls are popular but too much for most singles. Service was friendly and outstanding! Highly recommended to try.More

This is the place for Swedish Meatballs for lunch. Get there early (11:30am) or you won't get a seat.

Stopped here for an early dinner our first full day in Stockholm. We both got the meatballs and mashed potatoes which were amazing! One of the best we had on our trip. Staff was friendly. Would definitely recommend eating here

We ate at Bakficka for lunch, food was delicious, ordered the Roast torbay sole meuniere with browned butter, lemon, capers and parsley, salmon with dill creamed potatoes and the Swedish meatballs in cream sauce with potato purée, lingonberries and pickled cucumber. Best meatballs I ever...had and the sole was incredible. It was a delicious meal in a beautiful setting and service was excellent. Definitely a meal that is totally worth it.More

We ate in the Opera Bar which shares the kitchen with Bakficka right next door, and what an amazing little find. We were on the search for the best traditional Swedish Meatballs in Stockholm, and they were so good we actually went back again the...following night to order them again! On top of the outstanding food, the restaurant has a great, old-school feel with wood paneling and ornate glasswork ceiling. The crisply dressed waiters were welcoming and friendly beneath a perfectly-appropriate dry sense of humor. Highly recommend!More

Small changes would make a world of difference here. First: there are two sets of doors and if one of them is always open people entering or leaving create terrible draft. With 16C makes an impression. Food is not bad, but... we ordered 5 different...things. Potato purée had definitely too much salt. Crab had some weird spices but this is the matter of taste. Last but not least- silence in the place was only broken by the sound ... of silence. Pity, since there is opera nearby some very discreet music would make this experience nicer.More

They have indoor and outdoor seating, I went with the Swedish Meatballs and the Avocado salad, both were very good. They also bring out a selection of breads for you to choose from. The price was pretty good for the location.
