I was sure we were in the wrong restaurant. Supposed to be 1 Michelin star restaurant but everyone dressed super casually and I was wearing my little black dress! I was a bit worried when I read the menu. It was set out completely differently...More

Went there to celebrate a friend. You share the dishes and pick 5-6 dishes for 2 persons. Fantastic food and great service. Will definitely go there again even though Im normally a "meat" person

As an omnivore travelling with a vegetarian, I find I often have to compromise at mealtimes, eschewing, for example, seafood restaurants and burger joints. Rutabaga, however, was anything but a compromise. There I had simply one of the finest meals I've enjoyed anywhere in Scandinavia....More

Mathias Dahlgren's bet on a upscale vegetarian restaurant in Stockholm is bold. A flop would seriously damage his reputation as one Sweden's best chefs ever. His timing though is very good. The world needs to eat a lot less calories in general and beef in...More

New Mathias Dahlgrens vegetarian restaurant. We were told he was a bit "bored", so he decided to try this. I was skeptical but my partner was gung-ho so in we went. It was really good. Tasty, rich and satisfying. The best dishes were the nettles,...More

A casual, hip and edgy vegetarian restaurant in the Grand Hotel. The food was sensational. Started with the fresh berry Kambutcha which was beyond delicious. The nettles were exceptional and the white asparagus with Morels and Truffles out of this world! Andréa, our server, couldn't...More

Description
Matsalen is a modern gastronomic restaurant. Our cuisine is based on using the best fresh produce available here and now in Sweden and other parts of the world, spiced with curiosity and inspiration from everything we encounter. "The natural cuisine" is a menu that changes with nature and the seasons. We pair wine, beer and other beverages with each of the dishes we create. All the producers we work with are meticulously selected, they produce something we like. Our menu and drink offering - like the fresh produce - are living and change with the time of the year.
