They had only been friends a couple of weeks. We met this couple in Barcelona on the front end of a month long trip to Spain, Portugal and the Baltics. After enjoying a pleasant evening talking to them at dinner, we mentioned we would be in Stockholm in two weeks as part of a Celebrity Baltics cruise. They said they... More

I can't fault the food - we had the tasting menu which was delicious. However, our evening was very much tainted by the staff's discriminatory attitude towards my partner - refusing to serve him a drink when he was not in the slightest bit drunk. He has naturally heavy eyelids and had also been up since early in the morning... More

My wife and I enjoyed cocktails, followed by the tasting menu. This involves a trio of appetizers, a trio of starters, a trio of main courses and a choice of (almost) any of the desserts. The appetizers - grav lax, grubbora (an anchovy and egg mix) and toast skagen were each light, refreshing and a perfect way to begin a... More

I ate here tonight and the service was excellent and the cod with shrimp was exceptional. I read about this place here, in the Stockholm guide and it was also recommended by the tourist information and everyone was bang on! Loved it and would go back, this is a place where your money definitely brings you value.

Found in the Old Town near the Palace, this restaurant was recommended by locals. It combines a modern, friendly feel with a very accessible selection of traditional food. We had the taster menu, which we would thoroughly recommend.

Not the best food I have ever had, but this place does what it says - traditional food, and well cooked. I wasn't disappointed with anything I had, and for that I can't mark it down. Perhaps there was slightly more bacon than strictly necessary with the blood pudding, but can you ever have too much bacon? That was as... More

Came to Tradition at the end of our stay in Stockholm as a bit of a treat, and my word we did not regret it. The staff were extremely friendly, the setting was intimate and cosy, and the food was absolutely fantastic. Although it is marketed as being on the pricier side, it was well worth it, and I highly... More

My Swedish friends took me and my girlfriend here for a traditional Swedish meal and it didn't disappoint! All the options on the menu looked great and it was difficult to decide what to choose. The wine selection was also good. The service was friendly. It was expensive versus British standards, but that's just Sweden in general! If I revisit... More

We enjoyed our dinner here. Ambiance is calm and laid-back. Service was understated and discrete. Everything we ate was good. The Swedish bread was delicious. For starters we had the reindeer and the salmon - both very tasty. Swedish meatballs for main were good. The vegetarian choice was also good though the dumplings got a bit heavy by the end.... More

We tried different Swedish appetizers as well as different Mains and every dish was very tasty and we enjoyed our visit very much. The atmosphere is pleasant, modern style with traditional food. To be recommended!

Here at Tradition we offer you food from the Swedish cuisine as it was originally intended: Featured, uncomplicated high quality ingredients that are prepared with knowledge and care.

The three restaurants all have their own unique menus selected by season and what we think is best at the time in that particular district.

Staying in Vasastan

Neighbourhood Profile
Vasastan is one of those neighborhoods that almost looks too good to be true. It has the winning combination of a central location, tranquility, and beautiful buildings – housing sophisticated bars and eateries – that makes this neighborhood Stockholm’s most sought-after place to live. If walking through this area makes you feel like walking through a fairy tale or picture book it’s no surprise, as it’s actually the film set of the famous Swedish children story Karlsson-on-the-Roof. No matter what season, Vasastan manages to impress in the sunshine, covered in snow and won’t even lose its charm when soaked in rain.
