The place is like stepping a 100 years back in time. It's beautiful. I had tatar for starters and plate was set to simpel. Main course was meatballs. Expected more flavors. Lingonberries gave the dish flavor.

We were fortunate enough to visit Pelikan with a Swedish friend so he was able to communicate easily with the staff. However, just about everyone seemed competent in English so it would have been pretty easy. We had our first Toast Skagen, which became our favorite item from the entire trip. Do not go to Pelikan and not get the... More

Good Swedish food and beer in traditional restaurant in Stockholm. A little bit crowded compared to other restaurant we’ve been in. Service good. Reservation suggested.

My sister and I had the opportunity to visit Pelikan. It was an amazing experience. Friendly people. Lovely food. Dining with some locals and visitors alike. The meatballs were absolutely the best! Highly recommended!! The location is not really in the touristy areas. But worth the way.

Pelikan was booked as part of our New Years trip to Stockholm, and we had dinner here for New Years Day. The restaurant is within walking distance of local metro stations and luckily is a far more attractive setting than the bright neon lights of company shop fronts and signage along the main street. Approaching the restating you will see... More

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a real Swedish culinary experience. I enjoy the 1930's Art Deco decor, and the professional service of the waiters. I would just avoid the "braised duck breast", if you are not into raw fowl! Desserts were outstanding. It was expensive for our family outing of 5 adults, but... More

So glad we came here. One of the best meals of my life! Delicious high quality food, a wonderful restaurant! The Swedish meatballs were the best I had, the food was just incredible! I loved the fish pate, the pork knuckle, the herring ( so good!!) and chocolate cake- everything we had was just delicious. Highly recommend visiting this historic... More

The quality of the food has changed to the worse during the last two years. What a shame. This place used to have the best pork and mashed turnips in town.

This is a traditional Swedish place and has an old school vibe, especially the staff. The service can be a little brash but the food is worth it. Be sure to get reservations!

Booked table for 5 but had 3 more friends joining in at the last moment. Waiters scolded and not pleased we brought in extra customers. Waiters did not smile. Price is high for the serving size. Had meatballs, knuckle, kroppkakor. Not the best food in Stockholm. Rather salty, and small serving size for the kroppkakor. Would not return.

Staying in SoFo & Medborgarplatsen

Neighbourhood Profile
SoFo & Medborgarplatsen
Throughout the last decades these neighborhoods transformed from a rather quiet residential area into the birthplace of Swedish hipsterism and became Sweden’s main hub for new fashion labels, independent coffee shops and innovative gastropub concepts. Despite their extreme transformation, SoFo (South of Folkungagatan) & Medborgarplatsen managed to hold on to their residential charm and quietness and became one of the most sought-after places to live among young people in Stockholm. This neighborhood is also home to Sweden’s highest student hall, Skrapan, which used to be the head office of the tax authorities and now combines a mix of student hall and shopping mall with a bar on top.
