We have been going to this pub for many years and we were really disappointed how much the food had gone downhill. Renowned for its fish and chips now this appears sadly a thing of the past. The salad has disappeared, the chip were like cardboard basically fried from frozen to just about cooked. We ordered a kids sausage and... More
Went there two weeks ago and got in at 1800 when they start to serve dinner. Skate was so dried up it had no taste. My haddock was good in the middle but very very dry on the outside. Chips could well have been left over from lunch and re heated as they had no taste and were dry and... More
Popped in for a quiet pint or two with my wife.. The place is rammed, staff running around like crazy and alot of happy people eating and drinking. The food and service is excellent. Highly recommended this place...
Called in at lunchtime today after a breezy walk on the Devon coast. A lovely welcoming pub with good selection of ales. All three of us had cod and chips which was lovely and plentiful to say the least. Great fish selection on the menu to try next time. Well worth a visit.
We had a take away on sat 4th feb One large cod and chips Two regular cod and chips The large cod had 7 bones in it and the chips tasted more like oven chips we were very disappointed and went else wheref

This was a shame but we took our custom for... More
Stop here when visiting Torcross and Slapton Sands - always a good variety of fish dishes - best pint of prawns - Addlestones Cider - heavenly combination. Good to sit out in the summer too but the draw of the roaring fire in the winter is what it is all about. Always popular - confusing ordering method but always prompt... More
A very tasty meal here on a wet and windy evening. The smoked mackerel was really excellent and the fish pie was well put together with just the right amount of fishiness. Service was very cheerful, and beer and wine selection was just what was needed. There were a good choice of desserts too, but not for us on this... More
We took a visiting friend for lunch on the last day of January. A dull, wet, miserable day outside but the open fire & pub atmosphere cheered us up. We all had fish and chips, the medium portions were quite large enough for us. Good standard, as always( we have been coming here for over 20 years) efficient staff and... More
