We sadly found the beach & Taverna very spoilt from previous visits over the years. First day the sun beds were free, then second visit they were now that day €10. We found they were reserving the sun beds & people were not turning up...for them till late. They turfed several visitors off their beds to make way for late morning reservers. We ordered cocktails at the bar to be charged €2 each more than on the menu, when we questioned it we were told the prices had gone up but the menus weren't yet in print. I do hope this isn't a sign of how other beaches will go on Skiathos as it will spoil a beautiful gem of an island that we've been going to for 16years.More

Having holidayed in skiathos for many times we have always gone out of our way to visit Nostos beach. Like so many of the previous reviews we are very disappointed with the changes. It has gone from being a lovely peaceful, true Greek taverna in...lovely setting. Into a very noisy and unwelcoming setting. Having spoken to many tourists I understand that we are one of many couples and families who will not be returning. This has been turned into a loud beach catering solely for students.. I would recommend that the management considers the age groups of visitors to the beach, and offer a more tranquil environment.More

Nice cool beers and a snack for 15 euros more than adequate in between breakfast and diner. Cool shade in the heat and good service. English spoken

We went there for a romantic dinner by the beach....well...big disappointment. We were sat down by the waiter, given menu. Nice menu, interesting. Decided to go for a fresh fish (they had 5 different kinds of fresh fish) . Called the waiter, told him want...we want to eat and then it happed. He raised his voice and said "surely you don't expect me to keep fresh fish this time o the year" (10th September) I said shocked " excuse me??" and he replied " we don't have any fresh fish" I asked him then why he did not say anything beforhand when he gave us bloody menu and he just frown and then added "you can have anchovies". That was it! We stood up and left. We went to Johnny's restaurant nearby and had a great evening.More

Salty bone offers sunbeds close to the sea. The equipment is new and the staff very friendly. The food was very tasty and the beverages at the right temperature. The beach overall was not very crowded.

We decided to have lunch there, since it's the only restaurant on the beach. We were starving for some fresh seafood and we ordered grilled and fried squid, octopus, salad and French fries. First of all, there is almost nothing else besides seafood, so my...4 year-old had to stick with fries and bread. Unless your children love seafood, you won't be able to offer them a meal. No Greek salad!?! None of us three liked the seafood as it was hard to chew -- the squids were like rubber and almost rare... Not to mention the size of the portions -- order lots of bread and potatoes if you wish to feel full. The best thing were the fresh French fries really... On top of all, poor service -- no salt/pepper and olive oil on any of the tables. No napkins either. Had to ask for all of the above myself. Waiter was slow and careless. Forgot to bring the bread we ordered. At the end, we left slightly hungry and we payed 60€ for 3 adults and 1 kid and we didn't even drink! Very disappointed and never going back.More

Hidden away in Kape Kanapitsa this is a lovely little relaxing spot to grab a bite to eat. We came to the Salty Bone twice, the first time we were on a long walk and wanted to come to the little secluded bay and and...popped into the Salty Bone as a little pit stop. we had a fruit salad.. Never seen a fruit salad like it.. It was humongous. Never thought I could get so excited over a bowl of fruit. The second time we came with friends and had an early lunch which was a the chicken burritos and a spritzer. There is also a fish menu that is available from lunch time onwards. Never got round to trying this out but defiantly will be back.More

Having been a regular visitor to Nostos Beach for several years, I prefer the old traditional taverna before the renovation that has been done here. There are pros and cons to this new place. The pros being that the sun loungers on the beach are...now free. The cons are the menu is limited and service I found to be extremely slow. Waiting 45 minutes for food. In addition it is more expensive than the previous taverna.More

You sit down on the beach and just take in the atmosphere and order from the bar. They have a great range of drinks and eats and the salads are so fresh.

This is a sea food restaurant that serves absolutely fresh fish and shell fish . For example we ordered the muscles and we had to wait 20 minutes whilst they caught them !! The music in the bar was fantastic and gave a real chill...out atmosphere. The waiters couldn't do enough for you . A great lunchtime experienceMore

If you had have told me on one of my first of many visits to Skiathos over 25 years ago that one day I would be sitting in a beach taverna eating Sushi and Asian inspired food I would never have believed it. This is...exactly what we did yesterday on our last night and it was totally delicious. To start we ordered the tempura shrimp maki and the seared tuna - both were very very good. In fact the tempura shrimp was so delicious we ordered another portion and a portion of noodles. My only criticism was that the choice of noodles was rather limited - one choice was eel and another was italian sausage (which I'd never have put with asian inspired noodle dish) - a shrimp or chicken option would have worked better. Our waiter was charming and he recommended a delicious bottle of wine to accompany our meal having first asked us how much we wanted to pay - in this case it was Euro24. This was the most expensive meal of our holiday but it was totally worth it to enjoy such an idyllic setting and such tasty food. We didn't order any bread but I had to laugh when the couple on the next table did and it was served up in a hat - that really is taking trying to be different too far (and not in a good way)... The only shame was that apart from one other couple and a large group who arrived when we were leaving we were the only ones in the restaurant. The large group had ordered a huge 3.5 kilo fish and our waiter took us into the kitchen on our way out to show us it being cooked which we thought was a nice touch. Something completely different and probably not to everyone's taste but for a change we absolutely loved it.More

We went to This taverna at lunch time, when they first opened, the first week they were doing sandwiches the second week they had a proper menu we had club sandwiches ham and cheese, came with salad and chips, lovely food, no sunbeds or brollies...in front of the taverna so lovely view of the beach. We didnt visit in July as went past the beach and could only see sunbeds and brollies in front of the taverna, they looked quite close together, we will go again but only in the quieter months.More
