It is located on the street to Jewish Hammam and at noghts, it turns to a private open-air shelter. Very crowded, better to reserve a seat, I suggest not to irritate the lady who will seat you, but this is a part of the regions nature. It is nice to observe how relax people of Aegean manage with stress. Food... More

Fabulous meal. Papoutsakia and cretan kleftiko with tzatziki and roast potatoes. Tea, coffee and then a small carafe of Raki and sweet pie, not sure we want to leave. Cretan hospitality is fabulous and the food so good.

I usually just do an overnight stay in Chania. I certainly am happy i found 'To Xani' in this lovely 'Courtyard' setting. Fantastic food, super friendly staff and owner, great location and atmosphere. I definitely recommend this place. I went twice this year and it was excellent (once i arrived so late from the airport with my sister, and we... More

Last month I travelled to Chania, Crete for the first time and not only did I fall in love with the place but also with this beautiful restaurant! The food is absolutely delicious (authentic Greek home style cooking), the owners and staff so friendly, warm and inviting as is the atmosphere from the moment you walk in! You get to... More

This was our sixth year in a row visiting Xania, and each year we visit TO XANI, sometimes more than once. The Family is beautiful, the Food is incredible, the Hospitality is exceptional, and the Music is excellent. Thank you for another wonderful evening.

I absolutely loved this place and the lads did too. So friendly, such nice people. A family runs it and the head guy works just as hard as head of the family and he walks around checking everyone's happy. There were families, lads, girls and all sorts there so it does accommodate all reasons for a visit! The food was... More

Glad we went back to check this restaurant out. Good vegetarian dishes and beautiful quiet setting. Restaurant is set in back off the busy tourist path. My wife and I recommend To Xani.

We were lured into this restaurant by a lovely woman who was standing on one of the busier pedestrian alleys telling passers-by about this hidden gem. She told us that the food was all home made fresh daily, not frozen. She said that their traditional Cretan pies (kalitsounia) were made with wild mountain greens (horta) rather than the normal spinach.... More

Despite my guidebook saying not to go to restaurants which have a person on the street, we were lured in for lunch by the promise of a quiet enclosed courtyard and home-cooked food in clay pots cooked over an olivewood fire (you get shown the kitchen). Hospitality was amazing, our 2 year old was allowed to play with the family's... More
