Our family stayed in a flat nearby and we met our host at Willy’s. Coffee is very nice and there’s also a good selections of teas. Theodore was very welcoming and gave us lots of helpful info. Unfortunately we didn’t have the pleasure to listen...to the jazz session as we weren’t there over the weekend. Great little barMore
Great coffee and drinks laid back atmosphere and live music . In the heart of town but tucked away see ya there.
This is a nice neighborhood cafe to get a relaxing coffee or tea and read a newspaper. The ambience is very nice (reminds me of Parisian cafe), with good music and the food isn't bad either. The wi-fi is also reliable so if you need...a quiet place to work or study it's ideal, although unfortunately it closes early.More
My husband and I popped into this little coffee shop during a downpour we found ourselves caught up in during our short break to Athens. We were desperate for a good coffee having struggled to find any good coffee shops in Athens. When we approached...the bar the owner insisted he serve our coffee to the table and ushered us to take a seat. We ordered coffee and took a seat on one of the comfy sofas. The owner served us the traditional tap water along with our coffees. I had an espresso and hubbie had a cappuccino - the coffee was good as far as coffee goes in Athens although as with all coffee in Athens we felt it was slightly over priced. Would visit again however as we enjoyed the relaxed laid back vibes and the background music.More
I visited here on the basis of the Trip Advisor reviews. Wow! This is a true gem. Such a shame that it is "hidden away". The location is on street level, not 4th floor as description states. This is a music cafe in all senses....Pastries and home made food, accompanied by coffee or something stronger if you want. Service was tremendous, very welcoming and friendly. Music is jazz, but unobtrusive and all adds to the ambience of the place. It does live music many nights, all advertised out front. This will be my regular haunt in Athens on future trips. Please go here and sample the atmosphere. Brilliant!More
I came upon Willy's musicafe when renting an apartment close by metro megaro moussikkis. An excellent local cafe off the busy main street for anyone using the nearby serum clinic or hotels athanian and alexandros in this area I stayed in the area only two...days and each day i was drawn back to this tranquil locals cafe which is tastefully furnished, good value and tasty beverages, drunk to the sound of jazz. As a lone female, I felt very safe. Unbeknown to me Theodore, the bar manager at Willy's became my host in this sanctuary when I had to unexpectedly leave my rental due to falling foul of an unscrupulous property manager masquerading as owner through trip advisor. Theodore patiently allowed me to wait in the cafe with my baggage whilst I and my partner in england sorted out alternative accommodation. Not an easy challenge at peak season when most places were fully booked. Theodore at willys musicafe restored my faith. He also refused payment of my final coffee bill when i had secured a hotel!! Can't recommend Willy's musicafe more highly on every front.More
There's no shortage of places to get a cappucino freddo in Athens. Most of them are over-priced,short on atmosphere and high volume in orientation. Willy's is a wonderful exception. Evrou is a quiet street that runs parallel to and east of Vassilis Sofias street, near...the Megaro Moussikis metro on the Blue line. If you're visiting the museums on Sofias this is a friendly alternative to the high prices of Kolonaki. Willy, a big guy with a grey pony tail, is there most days, proudly advertising "homemade food". The fare is simple--salads, quiches, pies and delightful pastries--and it's all excellent, moderately priced, served with class but no pretensions. The music is always jazz, and it's never eardrum piercing, which, for those who know Athens, is a truly merciful relief. You can sit outside or in the warm indoor environment and be fairly sure you won't have to inhale someone's smoke (another rarity in Athens). Ignore the Trip Advisor address that says "4th floor"; this is a streetside cafe. All in all, Willy's is not for pumped-up teens wanting to trade the latest gossip. It's a mature cafe for mature people. And that's a valuable find in any city.More
