The design is great, a real piece of art by Campana brothers. The wood columns, the furnitures, the big lamps. The food was very good. We had two kinds of fish and loved it. Prices are pretty high but it was worth it. Go take s look at the lobby of the hotel ( it's in the New hotel)

We ate at New Taste on the roof for dinner while staying at New Hotel, and while the space itself is so cool, the food was just okay. Our fish was over-cooked and the spinach over salted. Nothing offensive, it just wasn't wonderful. It was, however, quite expensive. I would say that the rooftop is better for drinks than it... More

OK, so the professional photos overstate the view of the Acropolis, however, soon the chef carries you away to a place of culinary joy! Against a creative backdrop of furnishings and artwork, the imagination of the chef is met with the thought of "I am glad to have found this"! I loved the saffron risotto. Every aspect of the meal... The view of the acropolis is great, the food is wonderful, great bar and wines, from average to expensive the price, its really worth it. Try the chocolate mousse for dessert, they also have a big te selection and excellent coffee

We were staying at the hotel which made this an easy spot for us on our first night in Athens. The views are amazing! The food (lamb and octopus) was delicious and the cocktails were yummy! The service was mildly warm and we enjoyed the quite setting and the very cool modern design details!

We had great eggs benedict and brunch here. I ordered a "sparkling wine with orange juice" to drink for brunch and they brought me one and I drank it. Little did I know I was actually drinking a glass of Moet with OJ in it. 22 euros later... They should have told us before hand if they didn't have sparking... More

This is one of the best spots to go out for dinner in downtown Athens if you are looking for a quiet classy place. The roof garden offers great views, and takes you away from the street level noise. The menu had an interesting variety, not typically encountered at Greek restaurants. The vitello tonnato and peskandritsa were very good. The... More

Stayed in Athens and the hotel for one night and we had an amazing time. Emailed the restaurant a few days before and asked for a table overlooking the Acropolis and that's exactly what we got. The terrace is gorgeous and the music perfect. The staff is incredibly nice and very attentive without being in your face. I started with... More

If you are set on the Acropolis view, there are other places on the same street with a much better view, but their food don't match New Taste. Every dish we had was excellent. The lentil salad, Gazpacho soup and desserts were divine. There is a reasonably good view of the city and the outside area is pleasant. The designers... More

Staying in Syntagma

Neighbourhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
