The location is right outside of the metro station and a hundred feet from the hotel where I stayed at .The restaurant is very simple and busy but the gentleman at the entrance was friendly and helpful. I ordered moussaka the first time and I got hooked . The food was delicious and the portions were big .Stuffed peppers, kalamaki... More
This is my "go-to" restaurant in downtown Athens for the small, private tours I lead to Greece. It's an authentic neighborhood restaurant just a short walk for the tourist areas around the Akropolis. Our first day in Athens the hotel recommend this restaurant to us. Once there we were welcomed by a nice lady in the entrance(first and last good attitude). The musaka we ordered we did not like it at all. The place it was full and everything happens so fast that you feel they want to get rid of you as soon... More
We dropped to Ambrosia for a quick lunch and it was a good choice. They have a great variety of different typical Greek food. Grilled meats are delicious. We certainly got to get back there for more awsome culinary expirience.
Ambrosia is a traditional Greek taverna, with the grill an added bonus. We eat here quite often, and love the feel of the sidewalk restaurant, as well as indoors during the colder days.
This restaurant was recommended by our hotel and we were not disappointed. We went a few time during our stay. Greek salad, bread, calamari, sea bream, and souvlaki...all were delicious. The service was good as well.
Had an early lunch at the Ambrosia The restaurant has the daily meals displayed at the kitchen counter plus it has various roasting meats and gyros. In addition there are additional choices a la carte The meals are excellent and the Greek Xoriatiki Salad outstanding . I have been to many restaurants in Athens but Ambrosia definitely is a "must"... More
