Friendly young service in nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, food under expectations. Little creativity, very basic technique, not worth the high prices. Comprehensive wine list, much overpriced. All in all, I would not recommend it to a friend.

We didn't have enough days to get in for dinner, but we lucked out. They have a delicious prix fixe menu for lunch, at a steal of a price (€20)! Three courses of Michelin-star Portuguese cuisine and we left full. Make sure to save room for dessert.

We were taken to this restaurant by friends who have this as their favourite restaurant and we can see why. It is a more up market restaurant than most in Porto but worth every penny. It was fine dining at its best. Every course was a perfect step on a wonderful journey.

A group of 7 of us arrived at the airport at 12:30 and were seated at a lovely positioned table at 14:15. We had the 20 Euro set lunch, which obviously contained small portions but was truly excellent. Beautifully prepared and everything tasted very good indeed. The meal was accompanied with 2 very good Douro wines (White and Red). We... More

Our walking tour through Wine Tourism Portugal arranged our dinner here with a tasting menu, and everything was delicious! Good bread, awesome cod. So glad we got to go here!

The beet salad was to die for. The sea bass in lemon foam was to die for. The lamb excellent 2 chunks - could be more for the $. The shrimp and pasta was excellent. Lemon dessert very good. Service was good but could use a slight attitude adjustment.

We received a friendly welcome at DOP and were seated in an open plan room, with somewhat stark lighting and a chef preparing desserts at a table at one side. After a large lunch we ate only main courses. Suckling pig, a speciality, was thin, crisply roast belly served with an individual gratin savoyard (thin potatoes baked in stock). Together... More

Great service, great food and amazing presentation. It was possible to choose different menus - we could test several plates. Very good suggestion from our main waiter. We had a great time.

In the first quarter of 2010, Rui Paula returned to his homeland, OPorto, with the opening of the DOP restaurant. The new space is situated in the Palace of the Arts - Talent Factory, in Largo de S. Domingos in the historic city center, classified as World Heritage. This building is full of history.
It began as the S. Domingos Convent and remained active since the fourteenth century, as a venue for auctions and council meetings. In 1834, served as the headquarters of the Lisbon (later Portugal Bank), and between 1934 and 1989 hosted the Douro Insurance Company.
The Palace of Arts, now under the jurisdiction of the Youth Foundation, aims to "establish itself as a center of creativity and innovation of national and international excellence, professionally promoting young designers / artists, and be the dynamic center of the historic center as a cluster of arts and creative industries, enhancing its ability to attract creative professionals and tourism."
The concept of the Palace of Arts fits perfectly in the Rui Paula project, who understands the gastronomy field as a creation with a strong cultural component. DOP has been designed to operate as a good taste, space cosmopolitan and yet familiar, and the generator of exciting dining experiences.
The restaurant, with capacity for 65 people is provided with the latest equipment and has two distinct and complementary spaces: one show cooking, where the service is faster and more economical, and a traditional but innovative cuisine and dinning room.
