We tried Portuguesse cuisine dishes from the menu and it was extraordinary. Best dinner we had in Madeira and for a reasonable price - not to mention world class service

We're back on Madeira, a favourite as the name I gave myself testifies. Just been allowed out after passing Covid test and dropped by at lunchtime. The restaurant was well-popolated by locals, and we were persuaded (not difficult!) to stop for lunch. From the menu...we both had fish stew, which was delicious and perfectly cooked. That plus two large beers came to just over 22 euros for the two of us! They say you get what you pay for, but if you know what you want you don't have to pay!More

Visited this evening on a recommendation by a friend who lives on the island. We booked in advance which was a good move because the restaurant became full within half an hour after we arrived (7.30pm) The staff are all brilliantly friendly and extremely attentive....The food was of an excellent quality and presentation. The prawn avocado and mussels starters were fantastic I had the tomato & onion soup with egg which was extremely tasty Our mains were Scabbard Fish with banana and Steak in onion & Madeira sauce. Both extremely tasty and cooked to perfection. Desserts - ice cream and cheese Cake All washed down with 2 bottles of their house Vino Verde White (Green) wine. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Our best meal within 5 days. Congratulations to the team who worked together extremely proficiently 👍👍👌More

I favourably reviewed this restaurant last September and returned last week. I was a little hesitant at ordering the scabbard fish with passion fruit and Madeira wine sauce as I do not have a sweet tooth, but it was a revelaton. So delicious that on...return to the UK I went out to buy passion fruit to try makiing the same dish (different white fish of course) at home. Excellent service from the owner/manager and his grandson, and 40% discount on the food. Highly recommended.More
