Unpretentious family-run restaurant - no airs and traces - just good food and low prices. Be aware of the huge portions - so go hungry and leave full. Excellent Tuna.

We ate here twice during our recent visit to Funchal. The restaurant is simple, clean and friendly. The food is good and the portions copious. Scababrd fish is the local delicacy to try. The waitress was helpful and spoke good English. Londres is popular both with tourists and locals. A place to try if you are in the centre of... More

This is a very popular restaurant and it is sensible to book in advance - sometimes there are queues of people waiting. The reason is a good menu of local dishes; nothing fancy, but very well cooked and plenty of it. Some diners would be wise to share a main course between two. Everything is freshly prepared and very tasty... More

We enjoyed a very good meal here. The service was good and staff were friendly. We were seated at a small table but were moved as soon as a larger one became available. The portions were large and very tasty - enough to share.

Admittedly we don't like being grabbed on the street by some waiter, but, in this case, the young lady was very charming and helpful. As this was our first evening in Funchal, we asked about 'espade' and they produced two - one fried, the other grilled. Both were very pleasant although I wasn't convinced by the fried banana. Everything was... More

The pickled broad beans, followed by limpets and black pudding were excellent; but the liver was badly cooked. Perhaps a poor choice on our part, but we've had excellent liver in Portugal.. why not here?

We went here after raving reviews about it and made a 7:30 reservation to avoid the queues. Maybe it was our individual waitress but we had to wait over half and hour for some olive and a drink, it was well over an hour before our dinner came and she forgot the garlic bread we ordered and a jug of... A very disappointing meal here given the very good reviews previously provided for this restaurant. The food was mediocre, with over cooked vegetables and very poor sauce to accompany my tuna steak. Service was average. There are far better places to eat in Funchal which offer much better value for money. I won't be visiting again.

We don't remember this customer, if you had book a table or not, but you should ask us when you're eating for change your dish. The tuna sauce is allways the same, and generally our customers loves it. You will not find better than Londres, unless you pay the double or triple price for the same menu and less food. More

I had a great calamari dish, which was coated with egg, not batter. It's better, trust me. The pudding was great. Plus a coffee, it was only 13 Euros. Bargain.

We were given a recommendation for this restaurant on our first night here last year and we have been back many times. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is wonderful. The fact that many local people eat here speaks for itself.
