Used this restaurant 3 times during the week. Staff are lovely and very helpful. Food well cooked and steaks really good value - several euros cheaper than elsewhere and as good if not better. Well worth a visit.

Went twice for lunch. I had special which was fish in a perno sauce and my husband had pork. Very fresh and tasty and for 7.50 euros each good value. The house wine is good.

Bizarre evening waiting 2 hours for food, this restaurant kept reminding me of Fawlty Towers only I wasn't laughing. We were served by a girl in her overcoat who kept darting outside to drag unsuspecting punters in for a very long evening. The only chef disappeared halfway through with several tables waiting for food, a strange woman kept laughing hysterically... More

Most restaurants down this street are waiting to pounce on you as you pass, and entice you in. Here we were invited to view the menu, but not pressured. The service was friendly and laid back (there when you needed them, but not too over attentive. Food was traditional, and tasted good. Waiter/chef was very knowledgeable about the dishes.

Not very busy when we visited, but good food, excellent service and reasonable prices. If you can not get a table at the Londres opposite, this is an interesting and cheaper alternative.

We were really happy about finding this place. Good value for all the food we even couldn't finish. My boyfriend loved meat and I loved my fish. Food felt like home-cooked and made us feel cozy. Service was great, everyone were friendly and sincere. We were surprised how cheap it was! Would go second time, when we visit Madeira again!

This restaurant opened on Saturday while others were closed so I tried it. The menu was typical. I wanted to try the passionfruit pudding but they did not have it that day. So I ordered a vegetable soup which was so so and grilled limpets which was a half shellfish kind. The limpets were good, but I think mussels taste... More

3 of us had the €9 menu this evening. A nice home made veg soup. Then we had a mixed meat kebab; fish with banana; chicken with lemon; a choice of 7 desserts then coffee and a madeira all for €9!!! Family run friendly and good cooking. Highly recommended and we shall return soon

As others have said, a family run restaurant with fantastic, tasty home-cooked food. Not flashy, or smart, but with food served like this at these prices, who cares. I had the €12.25 3 course set menu & my husband went a la carte, which offered very reasonable prices. His tomato & onion soup was amazing: heaped curried onions with an... More

Traditional Funchalrestaurant, busy with many locals at lunch, simple, but good food and very good prices. This time we were there in the evening, suprisingly we were the only guests. I recommend the place for lunch, they have great offers for asetmenu.
