What a great little find this place was. Having sampled several glasses of the local beer (Coral), we craved something a little more authentic. Whilst this isn’t a real ale pub, they do have a good selection of craft beers, all reasonably priced and all...served by friendly staff. We also tried some of their selection of red wines from mainland Portugal (during our multiple visits) and they were also of a high standard. As an aside, the fava beans snacks served with the drinks orders, whilst probably an acquired taste for some, were definitely a winner with us, we couldn’t get enough of them! We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town!More

Sought this place out as we fancied something different to Super Bock and Coral. Not difficult to find, (adjacent to the La Vie shopping centre), and we were not disappointed. Not only a great choice of beer, (and I agree with a previous reviewer that...the IPA is particularly excellent), but my wife was also highly impressed by the freshly made poncho. NOT the stuff poured from a bottle, but you can watch the bar staff make it and appreciate and taste each individual ingredient. Our only disappointment? We left on Monday morning and didn't realise that they weren't open on Sundays, therefore missing out on one last visit. Gutted! But we did visit four evenings in our week in Madeira so.....More

A must to seek out this small bar with an excellent choice of craft beer. Helpful staff. Snacks offered.

Visited twice during my visit to Madeira. Good selection of Portuguese craft beer on tap and also bottled. The owner is very friendly an knowledgable and helped me select a range of beers to drink during my stay. Highly recommended if you like craft beer!...I saw no other specialist beer shops or bars that stocked the variety of beers here e.g. lagers, American pale ales, IPAs and DIPAs, sours, stouts and imperial stouts.More

Went to try the craft beer and was pleasantly surprised by the food as well. Beer not cheapest but you get what you pay for, beautiful IPA at 6.8% proof so wouldn't need too many, decent wine choice and the food was really tasty especially...pulled pork in corn pasties, ordered 2 more. Wouldn't spend whole evening there but good for couple of hours, bit of beaten track as taxi driver didn't know it.More

Located just behind the La Vie Mall in Funchal we discovered this absolute gem. Several ales on tap plus dozens of bottled ale's from the mainland to choose from, well that was me sorted, the GF said her Rose Wine was the best on the...Island, so far so good, the cheese board comprising of local cheese's, nuts and cracker breads was a winner also. The welcome from the staff and owners was second to none, we visited on numerous occasions the clientele a mix of locals and tourists but all received same warm greeting, keep doing what you are doing and wish you every success, Graham & Sarah.More

Friends introduced us to Fugacidade last year and, like them, it has become our favourite place to greet, meet and eat. Located adjacent to La Vie slightly off the main centre, it is well worth the detour. Wonderful local food and drinks served at very...reasonable prices in a relaxing informal atmosphere by excellent staff led by the owners Duarte and Graca. A little gem.More

I'm kinda wishing this place had been a bit closer to where we were staying as the beer was excellent...and a good variety of craft on draft. Staff were very friendly and helpful and although we didn't eat the food looked really good with generous...portions. It certainly seems a popular place so it might get quite busy at the weekends.More
