Oh this Restaurant is a MUST! We booked and were not disappointed. We received a complementary Bual before our starter of Prawns in Garlic! So delicious!!! I had Red Snapper- fresh, tender and succulent. The portions were very generous and reasonably priced. Throughout the meal the staff worked very hard. That evening was a Fado night which we thoroughly enjoyed.... More

Fine musicians and Fado singers. Busy on a Saturday evening. Enjoyed the local dishes, limpets, prawns, and grilled beef on sticks known as Entamadas. Good atmosphere.

Real character Portuguese restaurant with barbecued fish outside and beautiful traditional decor inside with very nice food. Lovely place for lunch or live music at night. We loved this place.

Fado entertainment on the house. Menu prices the same as anywhere else. Homespun entertainment. The waiter becomes a divo later in the evening. The food is top quality too. Book in advance to be sure of a table for dinner

This was a treat provided by our neighbour for our 70th birthdays and the restaurant was always on our "to do list". We certainly were not disappointed with the food, in fact, this was one of our most enjoyable meals during our 7 week stay in Funchal. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and are an excellent example of... More

Run by Arsenio, who cooks on the open fire outside, a Fado restaurant with local singers. The food is very good and typically Madeiran. Booking is advisable as it is often full.

Stopped here with the intention of having an inexpensive lunch. I cannot fault the quality of the food, but the portions were quite small. Even though we had two small glasses of wine each, we were a little surprised that the bill came to 55 euros. Very friendly though.

Visited this restaurant after conversation with one of the owners and were not disappointed. We both had fillet steak which melted in the mouth. It was late in the evening when we dined there and by the end of our meal the silver was being cleaned in a plastic bowl at the table next to us by the charming owners... More

By the time we left the restaurant we smelled like we'd sat by a barbeque. Service was below par. Food was OK and therefore expensive for what we had. When we were eventually served, one of our party had Spaghetti Bolognese. It looked awful and apparently wasn't much better. They didn't like the polite but honest feedback when they asked... More

Thank you for your visit. We are a tradicional restaurant with live perfomance of the nacional song: fado, it means That the majority of our guests want to listen the music, not people laughing, that's why we have a terrace. Regarding to the spaghetti, we only have that for kids, and normally with no complains. Omelets are made with eggs,... More

On the corner. try the poncha as a starter drink. Once may be enough ! Nice bottle of local Rose, chicken piri piri, 2 mixed fish, chips, salad and potatoes, caramel pud, ice cream. Helpful and friendly staff. Nice ambience, live music. Worth a try.
