We were very happy to have stayed next door to Cova Funda for 3 nights. Food was too filling (try the half doses), full of locals, and prices were among the best we have encountered in Lisboa. Staff was great and the owner, though we had a language barrier, was very funny and accommodating. We ate there 3 times in... More

We had a late after noon meal here after hiking back from a visit to the Cristo Rei National Monument. The food was good and the staff was very friendly. Plan to relax a little and enjoy the atmosphere. This appears to be a local favorite as well as a tourist spot to eat. We enjoyed the grilled meat skewers... More

Portuguese food at its best is simple food and get's its flavour mainly from the high-quality fish or meat. That's what I realised after having dinner in Cova Funda. Fresh ingredients on the grill or oven with olive oil, salt, and garlic (they also have other typical Portuguese dishes/stews that have a different type of ingredients - try the Leitao... More

We stumbled upon this place while looking for somewhere to have dinner near our Air BnB flat. We had to wait a bit for a table, but it was well worth it! It's true -- if you order from the English menu, you will pay a few euros more than if you speak Portuguese and order from their menu. Their... More

We found this place on tripadvisor when we were looking for somewhere good but quick to eat near our hotel before catching a flight home. We ordered the grilled cod in oil sharer plate between two which was simple but delicious and plenty of food for two. With wine and bread the whole meal came to €25, such great value!... More

Outside seating looked appealable but after our first bite, we regretted everything. Chicken tasted undercooked and it tasted like it was boiled first and then fried, it was too salty to eat. The same with our fish and veggies - too salty.

We gathered a group of 12 people to go on purpose to this restaurant but we were refused to seat. Their point was that we were too many for that little restaurant. It happens that we're there weeks before as 18 people. We this attitude we won't come back for sure! Besides this, the food is ok for what you... More

Had a wonderful meal at this hole in the wall spot. Great wine list, fabulous fish and dessert. Exceptionally reasonable (a full portion of food serves 2).

We stumbled on this place randomly as it was close to the place we are staying at and didn't know what to expect as it is near the touristy neighborhood. I had a craving for octopus and it had some with lots of different meat and fish too. We ordered the vegetable and antalajuna soup, which were traditional and homemade.... More

It does not appear to be one of those fancy shmancy touristic restaurant, and this is another good reason to go to Cova Funda. Give it a try if you are looking for real Portuguese cuisine and good prices. The food is delicious, portions are huge (go for the half portion to be shared in two) and for the price... More
