Portion sizing was incredible. The seafood rice stew dish was for two but could've fed us all! So much variety. Great value for money. The salmon was the biggest we have ever been served and everything was so fresh and the food was almost theatrical.

Recommended by our hotel we enjoyed a relaxed dining experience including sole, Hake with seafood rice after cheese and marianated octopus apetizers. A great red wine and fresh mango with a sweet cherry liquer capped a wonderful dining experience. The waiter brought a great sense of humor to the evening

I come here every trip to Lisbon and it never fails to impress. The staff are great and the food is simply to die for. Had fresh crab and prawns in garlic tonight. It's simple delicious and amazingly well cooked. I really can't recommend this place enough.

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel in Lisbon as a good place to eat Portuguese. The restaurant which specialized in fresh seafood, was bright and welcoming. We may have been thinly english speakers in the place. The waiters had a smattering of English but most of the ordering was done by pointing at the menu (which had an English... More

Do not be deceived by the exterior of this place. Walk inside to find it opens out with plenty of space. With a mixture of locals & tourists the atmosphere was warm & friendly. We spotted someone having the seafood rice and ordered the same which appeared to start a chain reaction of orders for this dish as new customers... More

There are 2 sections to the eatery; 1/2 has more of a feel like a diner, real casual and the other more like a sit down restaurant. I like that there were pictures of every single one of their dishes, all eating establishments should have this feature in their menu. I had the veal-it comes with fries, and a creamed... More

We were recommended this place by our hotel as somewhere very casual but with great food and where they eat. We had the octopus salad and then shared the butterbean, prawn and chorizo stew polished off with a couple of glasses of wine....all for 30 euros! Amazing amazing food and I have eaten in done if the most expensive places!... More

We had an amazing experience which sets up our portugal trip well. The restaurant was patronized by locals and we had a very good waiter "Ferour" who made sure we did not order. The tiger prawns were to die for and so was the last dish - a seafood stew.

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
