tiny restaurant, great food. I had one of the best bacalhau that I have ever eaten. The owner is very friendly and kind, and I had a very pleasant dinner

A good choice for tasting traditional meat and fish dishes in the area of Bairo Alto. An old style tavern with wooden interior and many many posters of classic fado swingers on the walls. The owners are the ones that serve the typical Lisbon dishes. What I enjoyed is the quality of the food, the variety of dishes they offer... More

The food was excellent and we had a wonderful waiter who spoke as many languages as we had on our table (four of them!). The Octopus was well done and in the right texture; the baked cod with potatoes—their signature dish—was wonderful, creamy and flavoursome. Certainly a homely feel to the place to go along with the homely flavours and... More

Looked good, and recommended by bar opposite. Cheery waiter enticed us in then things went down hill. - The usual charged cover of bread and olives came accompanied by ham and cheese. A lucky early check on the menu revealed these were expensive charged extras. back they went - Small flies all over the place. kept landing in food and... More

We stumbled upon this place and got the last two seats for an evening of food and fado. I had the grilled sea bass which was incredible. My husband chose the steak and wished he got fish. The fado was lovely and the entire evening was one we will remember!

I stumbled upon here for dinner and sat right away, I was attracted by the easy going atmosphere and full tables. I sat down right away (I would not necessarily wait a very long time to eat here). I had the seafood bisque and the cod potato bake house special, which were both good, as expected. Prices are comparable to... More

This is a wonderful, family owned and managed restaurant with truly authentic Portuguese food. Very small but worth the wait for a table. Prices are extremely reasonable. Great choice is Barrio Alto!

We'd intended visiting a fado restaurant nearby but it was closed and ended up here instead. It was absolutely wonderful. The food and service was perfect, and the owner really friendly. I really recommend this place. We returned the next evening as it was so good, but unfortunately they were closed that day, which is the only bad thing I... More

Wandered in here with some friends and took a seat outside as they were full. Service was attentive and the champagne sangria was fantastic. There were several lingering groups inside so it was a long wait for our table (they only have about 7) but it was worth the wait. The food was good, the staff were friendly and chatty... More
