Excellent food. The Best service. And all well under any budget. But, remember, three different prices: Inside-standing. In-side seating. Out-side!

In Lisbon over the NYE period we have eaten in lots of places. This was out final meal and the food and service was great. I had the octopus (as did most other dinners we could see). Don't understand the negative reviews service was good.

The staff are not honest in this restaurant. We paid the bill at the same time with the table next to us, and they serve the other table fast and we waited for about 15 mins for the change. And finally we found out that we should get 1.5 euros change, but actually we only got 60c. The food is... More

Very bad place. I have been to so many places and never had such a baf pasta. It was so watery that one moment I felt I was drinking Japanese noodle soup. We also ordered croquettas and they were frozen inside !!!! The waitor was asking us for a tip? Come on.

Food was awful. Hubby's meat tasted like rubber. Chips looked like they were reconstituted . Food watery . I had a spicy pasta that wasn't spicy. It was sent back to be redone and still bland when was brought back out . Definitely one to avoid . Yuck yuck yuck.

Came here for dinner with a friend for our first dinner in Lisbon. With its location, it definitely is a tourist trap. The employees lure you in, with the menu looking appetizing. We both got paella (friend getting seafood, me chicken). Hers had a fair amount of shrimp and clams, but mine had only four chicken wings. Not impressed. Overly... More

When travelling, I generally avoid places where waiters are practically dragging customers in off the street but on this occasion I was in need of a sit down, a cup of tea and a custard tart so did not protest! Service was good, waiter pleasant, tea and custard tart went down a treat so no complaints. Sat outside and watched... More

Popped in this restaurant on Saturday 5th November for breakfast. Menu was photos but when asking could we change the coffee for a tea - he suddenly couldn't understand or speak English Waited 20 mins for food, other customers were walking out - wished we had too. The food was sloppy with cardboard toast. When we questioned the bill with... More

Was seated right away by nice staff. I had the mixed paella and a Coke. It was a little cold with the sun behind the clouds but a lovely meal.

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
