Can't say too much, other wise I would have to write a crazy big report about it for being so delicious. Beautiful food. Sometimes there is an extremely unfriendly guy serving the tables, but even him becomes a funny thing to watch while eating the high standard food from this place. From breakfast to diner... Love It. Taste and you... More

They tried to fool us. The service was very bad and we do not recommend to go there. Moreover is really really expensive. :(

We went there to enjoy some cozy cupcakes but we asked for some drinks that weren't on the menu. They told us a price and then they changed it. From 5€ till 9€ a single drink. Almost 100% increase. We felt really bad.

Terrible place to go. Waiters treat you disrespectfully and they even insulted us when we told them not to overcharge us with a price that was not in the menu. The quality of the products provided was awful as well.

One thing that is apparent about Lisbon restaurant is you get hounded so keep a calm head. They will not give you time to thing and try and sit you down. We mainly tried this one due to the pastries in the shop window. The Torta (Portuguese Swiss roll) was lovely and has a caramel filling with syrup on top... More

We called here for morning coffee and pastry and afternoon sandwich during a recent visit to Lisbon. Good value helpful staff and plenty of seating outside

We went on this historical house at Rua Augusta in Lisbon just for coffee and some sweets, outside. The waiters don't speak Portuguese language, so they don't know the names of the traditional cakes exhibited in the shop window. I had to stand up and choose at the shop window each cake one by one. At the end surprise on... More

Pastries were so delicious we had to come back for more, the traditional Portuguese pastel de nata and /creamy ball/😅 are a must when you visit, this is a crazy busy store, so you have to be on top of the game to get someone's attention, but even when you get it that person might not be able to accommodate... Had a cup of soup and some croissant for breakfast. You have to eat your meal in a counter standing up but this is part of the charm of this place. They have a variety of bread and croissants that would make you salivate. We had our breakfast here for about three days and just loved it. We also got... More

We popped in for a palmier recheado and were given poor service and a slightly stale palmier with the tiniest smear of nata in it. The servers could not have cared less about whether customers got served and nobody acknowledged us in the empty shop for several minutes. Finally, we got a very distracted guy who was busy bantering with... More

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
