We came here on the recommendation of our host, which seems to be a trend after reading the reviews. It looks a little more upmarket but is really just well presented. As it was off-peak season, there was just us (a couple) and a small group from Taiwan in the restaurant. The set menu was to be 35euro, 3-course meal... More

For the unfamiliar with fado music the dinner at O Forcado is an amazing experience. The moment the lights are out you stop eating your delicious dinner and talking to your friendly Portuguese hosts and just listen this soul music, watch this dynamic folklore dances and appreciate your experience in Lisbon even more! Really recommend this place!

What is a trip to Lisbon without listening to Fado? We stumbled across Restaurante Tipico o Forcado as it was not too far away from our hotel and we were taking a short cut to someplace else. The street it is in is shabby. The old parts of Lisbon all are. It is what is behind the doors that matters.... More

Very good location, in Bairro Alto. Very good service. The waiter, Mr. Henry, very kind. But I was very impressed by the dancers. Very very good. I intended to return, and I hope I'll have again this opportunity.

Fun and romantic, I went with my partner who is Portuguese and authenticated the dishes we ordered. The Portuguese can really deliver on excellent service, and I say this as a nit-picky New Yorker. Although somewhat knowledgeable about wine, I told the waiter to pick something reasonable for us. His choice of a Quinta do Crasto was perfect. Adding to... More

Went here because of the location, wanted one fado experience during our stay. Turned out to be very crowded because of large tourist groups. Several "reserved" tables though next to the stage for walk-in customers. Were there at about 8:30 which turned out to be an ideal time, the music started soon after. One male and one female singer took... More

Our waiter was welcoming and outstanding. The food was just okay. The fado and dancing very enjoyable. We wanted this experience on our last night. I am not sure, but this whole experience seemed very expensive. We chose this because of location and did not have much time to explore other choices that may have been near our lodging.

After visiting National Palace of Sintra we came to O Forcado for its Fado and dance. The restaurant was crowded with people, more or less attracted by the Fado show, not for food. The main dish, Squid Spanish, was Interesting. The restaurant was relatively small. Service was OK, not much to recommend though.

My wife and I stumbled across this place after all the other places we checked were full for the week. Went right inside and got a nice table and an awesome waiter that reminded me of Rick Morranis. The food was homey and my steak/potato dish was amazing. But the best part for sure was the Fado. The girls were... More

AVOID, AVOID AVOID - DO NOT VISIT! Shockingly expensive rip off restaurant aimed at unsuspecting tourists and yes, embarrassingly, we fell into the trap! Offers average Fado music as a cover for the very overpriced, quite honestly, almost inedible poor quality food. This appears to be the kind of establishment that caters to large parties that have signed up for... More
