This is a fantastic place to sample different wines from all over Portugal. The owners were there and spent a great deal of time explaining the different wines and allowing us to sample several different ones before buying a glass. Would highly recommend!

We dropped in -4 of us- all looking for different things .. rose, light red, oaky white and bone dry white. This led to a brief tasting and great choices. Delicious charcuterie. Enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff. It is a great place to go for pleasure and education!

Our first night in Portugal started off on a high note thanks to this lovely find! The staff was great to work with and responded swiftly to my emails. They scheduled a reservation for us ahead of time. Their recommendations were wonderful and we were beyond pleased with the wine, cheese, and charcuterie, jam, oil, and bread selection-- all for... We took a group for a wine tasting and had a wonderful experience, the wines were excellent, everything was explained by our host. The cheese and meat selection went well with the wines, the cheeses especially showed a great range of local produce. All in all we had a great experience

I'm not a wine-expert but still didn't feel embarrassed at this place to taste several different and amazing wines from different regions in Portugal. We had some light snacks (sausage, ham, olives, cheese, jam and bread) with the wines. Charming place with excellent selection of wines, definitely recommended to visit.

The owner gives all his customers an amazing personalised wine tasting experience. Not a place for you if you're in a hurry but if you've got the time and like to learn a bit about Portuguese wine, definitely worth the visit. We felt that the charcuterie and cheese board was a little over priced at 27 euros.

Worth the walk up the hill! Staff very knowledgeable and helpful and a wonderful selection of wines on offer. Best was the port in a 'proper' wine glass! Will definitely go back next time we're in Lisbon.

We stumbled upon this wine bar after visiting the Castle in Lisbon. It was an excellent choice!! We were greeted by a very friendly server who walked us through wine ordering by asking us what types of wines we typically drink and then bringing us Portugese selections which he thought we would like. We got to try several different options... More

Staying in Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria

Neighbourhood Profile
Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria
Explore narrow streets and alleyways, small cafes and, of course, the internationally acclaimed Fado music. The earth-shattering Great Earthquake of 1755 destroyed most of the city but the contiguous neighborhoods of Mouraria, Castelo and Alfama remained standing to this day. These neighborhoods represent Lisbon at its historical best. The cool breeze of the Tagus river will take you up the hills to the sound of Fado, where you'll discover the best "tascas," eat delicious fresh fish and drink great wines. Discover hidden viewpoints and ancient traces of other civilizational ruins in the heart of the Portuguese capital. These are centuries-old neighborhoods that will welcome you to the very best of old Lisbon culture.
