It was a huge let down. This was recommended to us by our vrbo host. It was crowded and over priced. They were understaffed and the only choice of food was Cataplana. it was extremely expensive. By the time we sat down and ate it...More

What can I say about Sr. Fado and its owners Duarte and Marina that has not been said already? I can only repeat that Portugal is worth visiting if only just to come to their restaurant! Sr. Fado has authenticity that touches something in our...More

Had a dinner and music evening with 20 other tourists in March 2015. I don't know what would have been THE traditional fado-experience we lacked (based on what I read below), but we had a unique evening with this family. The dinner was fine, and...More

I can't really add to what others have said: this is a homely and intimate place where the Fado is taken seriously (it happens after the meal is finished and one is expected to keep quiet while it is being sung). At first I felt...More

The food is very good, but nothing compares to the atmosphere that they've created. It was so traditional, unique and wonderful. I recommended to all the people that want to experience something different which probably can not be done in any other corner of the...More

I think this is the best place in Lisbon where you can eat a tradional portuguese food and listening fado music. Is a family restaurant and you go there as a guest and leave as a friend. It' s just perfect. I would recommend this...More

On off the least pretentious of Lisbon's Fado restaurants is also one of its finest. Hosts Duarte Santos and Ana Marina treat guests as family and the homely ambiance is warming and inviting. The homemade gastronomy is noted for its textures and flavours and generous portions, with the seafood cataplana (stew) a much-lauded feast. The menu is limited, but here it's all about the quality of the food. As for the entertainment, this is local fado at its most authentic -- the singers and musicians have known each other for years, and the performance is heartfelt and genuine. Quite often, diners are invited to join in which makes the evening truly memorable.
