Small place on a side street in Belem. Found out you even need reservations for lunch, but they kindly have me a late seating. Wonderful service and the food was just outstanding. They must have some kind of genius in the kitchen. And of course the wine by the glass was perfectly recommended. Fantastic lunch on a day trip to... More

We were in holidays in Lisbonne and due to the good reputation on Tripavisor, we decided to try our chance. Unfortunately this have been a very idea. It was weird to be in this restaurant. People are really not nice and acting with no respectful . Maybe a little bit racist. Food were not so good and I can't understand... More

The best meal we had in Lisbon. We had the veal and pork, followed by two brilliant desserts. We only wished we had a starter as well! The wine recommendation was spot on, the service was excellent - unobtrusive and efficient - and the meal was worth every single penny. Seriously brilliant.

Came here based on reviews so, expectatipn was high. Reservatipn by phone turned out to be unnecessary with only 2 couples ad dinerd up until we left at 2030. Service was attentive, atmosphere weird due to large screen tv showing interney adverts - why ? Starters of asparagus and fois gras very interesting but not overewhelmingly good. Sea food mains,... First things first - this is a pretty small restaurant with a limited number of tables. So make reservations if you can or hope you go at just the right time - we were able to get a table for two without a reservation after a short wait at the wine bar. With that said, the food was great (among... More

This restaurant only sits about 16 so reservation is recommended however we were lucky and arrived 3:30pm for lunch so managed to get a table. It was a oasis from the touristy places in Belem. Everything we ate was delicious, including the bread. Lovely wine also. Highly recommend if you're visiting Belem for the day, but best to book.

We picked this place for lunch almost by chance, based on a Google Maps search - but it was a real gem, and we spent the rest of our holiday recommending it to others. It's a small place, with a limited (but fantastic) menu, based on local produce, and an amazing selection of wines, available by the bottle or glass.... More

We went for lunch and had a variety of dishes and all were really, really good. Definitely suggest the veal steak, octopus rice, and tuna. The service was wonderful, and the wine "menu" of bottles on the shelf is very unique (hint, it involves opera glasses). It is a very intimate setting, seating for perhaps 20 people overall. It is... We visited Enoteca for a lunch time treat after a busy day taking in the sights of Belem. Looking to avoid the overpriced, quick-flip restaurants you normally find in tourist honeypots, we stumbled across Enoteca. The menu was confident, concise and appealing with 4 to 6 dishes per course to choose from. The ambience was a little stuffy with most... More

Staying in Belem

Neighbourhood Profile
Belém is the "capital of the Portuguese Discoveries" and a photographer's paradise. You can spend an entire day exploring this neighborhood: monuments (Jerónimos Monastery, Belém Tower, Monument to the Discoveries), museums (Coach Museum, Centro Cultural de Belém) and breathtaking views of the Tagus river will make your visit worth your time. Belém also offers a variety of restaurants and cafes, namely the famous - and delicious - "Pastéis de Belém" (typical Portuguese custard tarts; make sure you buy an extra box of those!). Easily accessible from Lisbon's historic center, Belém is a must-do, especially if you're spending more than one day visiting the Portuguese capital.
