I had an incredible meal at Enoteca de Belem. It is located a bit off the beaten patch in a nondescript alley in the Belem neighborhood. The restaurant itself is modestly sized but decorated tastefully and the host is very welcoming. The food is phenomenal- I ate a wonderfully fresh seafood dish and a slice of chocolate cake for dessert.... More

Based on the TA recommendations my husband and I sought this place out. We had to walk around the block once before we found it tucked away in a quiet little side street. The extra effort to find it was absolutely worth it. This is fine dining in a cosy and friendly atmosphere. We started with a Fishsoup and a... More

We were back in Lisbon and we decided to go back with friends in this little gem we first found by accident years ago, we booked just to be sure and the experience was once again: "amazing"! We had dinner in a very nice atmosphere, all staff is friendly and very competent, they know how to move around their customers,... More

This wonderful restaurant is in a side lane just after the famous Pasteis de Belem shop that sells tarts. We were early for lunch and had to wait till precisely 1 pm before they opened. Waiters are smartly dressed and knowledgeable about their wines. The cold beetroot soup was delightful on a hot day. My lamb chops was tender, while... More

This tiny place has a real 1st class cheff that will delight you with a combination of excentric, traditional and audacious flavors. The place has a cozy atmosphere, that only fits 5 to 8 tables. The service is good, the variety of good wine is vast. A reservation is mandatory.

We were so lucky to get a table at this little restaurant. It was an experience of a lifetime. The sommelier has a great knowledge of wines and not only at Portuguese but at international level. It was astonishing that he even knew some particular Hungarian winemakers. Every dish, with its texture, taste, smell and combination with the spices and... More

The food is gourmet and excellent. Portions are small. Relatively pricey - main dish 17-24 euros. . It is tiny - seats less than 20. Four of us came exactly at 1pm when it opened and were lucky to be seated. No one else was seated without a reservation. Probably 15 people were turned away in the hour we were... More

Nelson the owner was fantastic. He was so knowledgeable and helpful. The pairings of wine and food were incredible. I would recommend Enoteca to anyone who appreciates fine wine and food. Thanks Nelson!

Staying in Belem

Neighbourhood Profile
Belem
Belém is the "capital of the Portuguese Discoveries" and a photographer's paradise. You can spend an entire day exploring this neighborhood: monuments (Jerónimos Monastery, Belém Tower, Monument to the Discoveries), museums (Coach Museum, Centro Cultural de Belém) and breathtaking views of the Tagus river will make your visit worth your time. Belém also offers a variety of restaurants and cafes, namely the famous - and delicious - "Pastéis de Belém" (typical Portuguese custard tarts; make sure you buy an extra box of those!). Easily accessible from Lisbon's historic center, Belém is a must-do, especially if you're spending more than one day visiting the Portuguese capital.
